Not a bad review that neither lays on the praise or criticism too thickly. I felt that too much time was spent progressing through the right between the demon king and his allies and some of those episodes felt like they were padding things out. Props to Yuki Kaji for having versatile voice acting skills but Zeldirs should have been voiced by someone else as it gets tricky when screen time is focused on him and Meliodas.

The final arc felt a bit tacked on and although I understand why it had to come after the main battle it should have been a short OVA series it film instead (its not like this approach hasn't been taken before with other series).

I've seen the first film enough was fine and would be interested in seeing the second one released back in Summer. I know they're working with Netflix on an original film but I can't tell if they're going to use traditional 2D animation or 3D cel-shaded animation yet.

I have no idea it was finished as for some reason my Netflix account shows I've watched all of the 5th season, despite having stopped previously at 12 so.... huh.

I ended up looking for it after seeing this review since I didn't see anything on Netflix about it, but it did have a "new episodes" thing for Edens Zero.

Overall, the series has been enjoyable, but the final bit kind of highlights the main gripe I've had with it that it sort of felt like it was searching for a climax but couldn't decide on what that would be. Big Bad is defeated and things move towards a conclusion, until Big Bad isn't actually gone, or a new one is introduced.
