I hope it is a good conclusion to the story. Hopefully Funimation streams and simuldubs it before the BD/DVD release.

Quote: | Fukui is returning from Star Blazers: Space Battleship Yamato 2202 to write the scripts and handle series composition. |
As if the treatment of the new cast from 2199 in 2202 wasn't obvious enough, Fukui's onboard for more. As someone who absolutely adored 2199 for being a fantastic update, I was sorely disappointing in 2202's treatment of the fresh faces introduced in '99 so this isn't encouraging personally.

I’m just so glad 2202 director is not involved in this new one. That sequel was one of the worst sht I’ve seen in recent times and it kinda hurt a bit my overall impression of the franchise. I still love the 2199, but if I’ll see something even remotely similar to 2202, I’m out.

Of the two, I preferred 2199 over 2202, but I am with Marzan in feeling any new Yamato is a good thing.

I'm always down for more Yamato, but I agree I'd like something more like 2199 and less 2202. Especially when it comes to the treatment of female characters.

Hope Funimation can get this. I'd also love to see Ark of the Stars still...

And we still don´t know what this will be. Remix the 2 films and The Bolar Wars into another 26 eps and close it this off with a remake of Final Yamato as a 12 ep extravaganza down the line. It´s really that simple.

I would actually love to see them eventually link the Space Battleship Yamato 2199/2202 & 2205 to the Space Battleship Yamato: Resurrection that was released in 2009. As i really liked the idea of Space Battleship Yamato: Resurrection with it showing how the lives of both Susumu Kodai and Yuki Mori Kodai are now in the years after the main Space Battleship Yamato story arcs, and how it introduced Susumu Kodai and Yuki Mori Kodai teenage daughter Miyuki Kodai! I was really disappointed at first when their was no sequel for Space Battleship Yamato: Resurrection, but when they announced Space Battleship Yamato 2199 i thought they may re-release/animate the Space Battleship Yamato story line and eventually tie it to story told in Space Battleship Yamato: Resurrection as well as release a sequels for it to continue the story! The one Huge thing i really did disliked in Space Battleship Yamato: Resurrection was what happened to Maho Orihara in the end of the Movie and how the Crew seemed to overlook the fate of their Crew mate after saving the Earth!
