I have loved isekai for a long time.
However even i am starting to think that maybe this genre has become oversaturated, at least the way this story is described sounds like it. No idea how the plot is but with that generic of a description does not sound much like any other basic isekai story. |

My issue is why are slimes being used in almost every isekai. There are other weak monsters they can use.

'My Isekai Life', that's one hell of a title... it's almost as if they gave up on trying.

That's the English title they chose? Really?
Well, this series is actually kinda fun but it IS far from original. |

Oh, oh, oh, oh, I can field this one! *incessantly hopping with raised hand* This is likely because most Isekai works written recently are based off videogames, and by videogames, I mean Japanese RPG videogames, which are derivative of Dragon Quest, where they are featured as the first monster encountered. "The Slimes made their first appearance in Dragon Quest as the first and weakest enemy in the game, and have made similar appearances in all subsequent Dragon Quest titles." But why does Dragon Quest feature slimes? It comes from Wizardry in the West, which came from Pen and Paper D&D (This is where the Slimes probably get added), which came from Tabletop Wargaming. In summary, they are likely not placing any effort into the cookie cutter premise. You could argue that they want to leave it untouched to benefit from the recent popularity or have just grown used to the tropes they read about all the time. Many of these novels are likely built on top of other novels, becoming more and more derivative. |

This visual reminds me of Isekai Cheat Magician's:
animenewsnetwork.com/news/2019-03-05/isekai-cheat-magician-tv-anime-unveils-cast-staff-visual/.144226 The color scheme is similar, from the multi-colored magic circles to the blue cape and yellow hems. And it still looks less impressive than the other visual. |

What's the hook even supposed to be with this one? That he uh... has two professions? Does this mean they've scraped the bottom of the barrel clean at last? I guess i'd rather something like this get animated over whichever revenge porn/ slave fantasy isekai LN is popular nowadays but still....

Yeah, a generic ubiquitous black haired clone one. |

Wow, that is maybe the most generic isekai protagonist I've seen. He's like the protagonist of a fake isekai series that exists as a gag in some better show.
