>since it largely avoids any mean humor,

That's putting it mildly. Not to spoil, but after a certain point, it's just legit pure sugar into your veins.

Does it kind of have Nagatoro vibes?

One quibble: "
Quote:
a position we don't typically see girls fill
"

I have seen LOTS of works that either depict or reference the "sukeban/ female banchou" trope to the point where fantasies like this - where such a character winds up in a romance with and protects a weaker boy - can even be considered a subgenre. However this is a fascinating twist - where the female believes that they are in a relationship and the male believes her to be just another of the many people bullying him - so I hope an anime adaptation arrives down the line.

Incidentally, I wonder how long they would be able to keep this up. I could see volume 2 being dedicated to the question that the reviewer answered in the volume: how she got to be a banchou in the first place and - more important - why she has such horrible communication skills.

But gee, you would think that at some point this confusion would be resolved by Toramaru trying to kiss him or hold his hand? That is the thing: normally the girl is a shy shrinking violet (or violent tsundere) who spends years waiting for the clueless guy to make the first move, but the whole point of works in this genre is the role reversal where the assertive girl is the romantic initiator. The guy being confident enough to do so both acts as character development AND a major milestone in the romantic relationship. If that doesn't happen by volume 4 then they would just be treading water. Which is typical for romcoms in general, granted but I don't know how it would be sustainable or justifiable in this case.

At the start, yes, as you can see from the review. (Not that extreme tho) After a few chapters tho, it goes into the exact opposite direction, more so than Nagatoro.

I liked it pretty well, until the last 15-20 chapters. It seemed to me the mangaka wanted to end it, but didn't know how to, so they added some elements that I felt was unnecessary.

This sounds nice. After finishing Tsujidou-san no Jun'ai Road, I am in the mood for some more delinquent relationship stories. Just something nice to read in-between work.[/url]
