Chip Kidd mentioned that this was in the works back in 2018 when he and Tagame-sensei did a signing in San Francisco. Didn't think it would take three years for an official announcement, but I guess Pantheon was waiting for the series to end serialization first ^^;

I liked My Brother's Husband a lot, so can't wait to check this out.

I'm already sold!
I have been wondering if it's worth upgrading my hardcovers for My Brother's Husband up to that omnibus though (mostly for larger pictures).... I also hope that we don't get any dead gay guys this time, I know it kicks off the whole plot for My Brother's Husband, but I also think we're well past the point where every gay story has to have a gay death, the presence of that trope was my only (minor) complaint with My Brother's Husband. Also, seeing how Gengoroh Tagame is openly gay and has basic human respect, I am very pleased to assume that the 16 year old high school student will NOT end up with the middle aged coffee shop owner! |

Don't really see what him being openly gay would change, as the author of That Blue Sky Feeling is openly gay and that had one of the main characters have a previous relationship with a much older man. And looking at a lot of Tagame's other works, he's not exactly the most innocent author (though most those are erotic works and Brother's Husband and Our Colors aren't) I'm not saying this means they will (or should) end up together because of that but Tagame being gay really doesn't change anything. |
