Funimation kind of botched the announcement by saying it would release June 12.
Also this is pretty ambitious, 153 is the most recent dubbed episode and yet in just 4 weeks they'll be airing Black Clover weekly on TV? The episodes have been coming out biweekly at best, so either they have confidence they have it figured out, or there's gonna be a lot of reruns...

Does this even really count as news if "season 4" is just part of the series' 170-episode run? Season 3, I can get, since Black Clover suspended premieres before then, but this? This is just obvious.

They've been airing it weekly for a couple of months now, ever since they resumed dubbing after the hiatus. As Takkun said, this announcement amounts to "We're going to keep doing what we're already doing!" I'm assuming they made a point to announce it because it marks the end of the current filler dreck.

I would guess they have it worked out. Fire Force started with some reruns but didn't hit any once it into season 2, even though that was dubbed every other week. MHA isn't very far ahead of Toonami either.

I think you're right. Toonami doesn't normally make a point of new episodes unless there was a break, like between seasons. It does strike me as trying to tell anyone that checked out during the filler when they might want to return.

Yeah, this is why I raised a brow at the announcement. With being so close to what has been released for dubbed episodes again, I felt like we were going to be due for a hiatus on the block again, and if there was going to be one, it'd be smart to do it before Season 4 begins. But I'm going to assume that maybe Funi is going to do the same things they're doing for AoT S4 and MHA S5 and making the rest of the episodes a priority to dub so that way there's no risk of causing gaps on the Toonami run.
