Correction/clarification: there are two manga series already existing, one by Tateno Makoto that is based on the TV drama, and one by Higuri You that is based on the Night Head Genesis anime (that is also based on the drama so it's all a bit confusing). There is also a novelization by Iida that had been out of print for a very long time and has been rereleased last November. What is happening now is that the new anime, Night Head 2041 is getting its own, new manga adaptation and novelization.
As a fan of the Night Head franchise I'm so happy that all this is happening now.  I loved the TV drama in all its cheesy, low budget glory, the novelization and the Tateno manga (Genesis was painfully bad though), and the new anime is my most anticipated show of the year. Even though objectively it's probably going to be very silly.
