Posted about it here and a few other posts in that thread, but nothing really got done, and I've got additional suggestions.
Can the Encyclopedia change these tasks to the following? ADR Supervision ---> ADV Supervisor BD Authoring ---> Blu-Ray Authoring Blu-Ray Menu ---> Blu-Ray Menu Design (I've not seen this entered yet) Blu-Ray Menus ---> Blu-Ray Menu Design (I've not seen this entered yet) Blu-Ray QC ---> Blu-Ray Quality Control (I've not seen this entered yet) Director, Video Post-Production ---> Video Post-Production Director Dubbing ---> ADR Production or Recording Studio Dubbing Director ---> ADR Director Dubbing Producer ---> ADR Producer Dubbing Studio ---> Recording Studio Dub Production ---> ADR Production DVD Author ---> DVD Authoring DVD Menu ---> DVD Menu Design DVD Menus ---> DVD Menu Design (This currently applies only to people, not companies.) DVD Packaging ---> Packaging Design DVD QC ---> DVD Quality Control Manager, Video Post-Production ---> Video Post-Production Manager Media Coordination ---> Media Coordinator Menus ---> Menu Design Packaging ---> Packaging Design Project Translator ---> Translation QC ---> Quality Control Senior Video Editors ---> Senior Video Editor Subtitler ---> Subtitling Video Editors ---> Video Editing When adding "Menu Design" for a company, can the encyclopedia stop displaying that as "DVD Menu Design"? It makes no sense at this point in time as the industry has now largely gone Blu-ray-only. Also, these tasks I've seen have typos and need to be changed. ADR Director (2019 Sentai Dub) ---> ADR Director (animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/error-report.php?code=AS-3809372026) DVD Edtior ---> DVD Editing Dialogie Editor ---> Dialogue Editing DVDCompression ---> DVD Compression Language Asset Coordinatory ---> Language Asset Coordinator Prodiction Coordinator ---> Production Coordination Production Assitant ---> Production Assistant Subitling ---> Subtitling Translation (episodes 141+) ---> Translation (anime#6236) Translation (volumes 3+) ---> Translation (person#74988) Video Post Production Director ---> Video Post-Production Director Video Post Production Director ---> Video Post-Production Manager (I've not seen this yet) Can these have changes to capitalization? Assistant Producer Associate Producer Blu-Ray Production Assistant Executive Producer Production Manager Recording Engineer Can "Lead ADR Engineer" get displayed below "ADR Engineer"? If one adds Blu-ray and DVD disc credit info, it gets burried. Also, can "Voice Direction" either get displayed as "ADR Director" or get placed at the very top so it's not at the very bottom typically? Lastly, can someone look into the suggestions made by kpossibles in this thread in the Encyclopedia forum? animenewsnetwork.com/bbs/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=3156708 |

I agree with almost all of these, except:
You mean "ADR Supervisor"? If so, agreed
Should we be replacing all instances of "dubbing" with "ADR" ? ADR is now the standard in North America, but all dubs are ADR.
Should we be using titles, or verbs? If we use the title "director," and not the verb "direction," shouldn't we use Subtitler, and Video Editor ?
Hmm, there's a reason for specifying "Lead," I don't think it should be removed.
I've brought this to Dan's attention. |

Some of those verbs are the result of the way the encyclopedia currently displays certain tasks. When you enter "Subtitles" for a person, it displays it as "Subtitling", when you enter "DVD Editor" it becomes "DVD Editing", or when you enter "Video Editor", it becomes "Video Editing". "Subtitler" is what FUNimation used on blog posts around 2014-2016 to describe the people that worked on the subtitles, but on the Blu-rays and DVDs themselves, they would be listed under "Subtitles". FUNimation to my knowledge hasn't posted blog posts like that in years though.
Also, with Lead ADR Engineer, I was referring to placement. You'd have it look like this. ADR Engineer: X XX XXX Lead ADR Engineer: X XX Currently, note where that appears on say this. It appears 23 tasks below the regular ADR Engineers because of all the Blu-ray and DVD information entered. anime#21588 [Edit]After adding some manga credits, I've discovered another task that needs to be changed how it's displayed. E.I.C. needs to be displayed as "Editor-in-Chief". Examples can be found here. person#20858 person#25736 |

Found another thing that needs to be changed, especially for formatting purposes. "Dub Script" should be displayed as "ADR Script". An example of that can be seen here.
anime#419 Another task that needs to be changed, "DVD-ROM Designer" should be "DVD-ROM Design". Also, "DVD-Rom Design" needs to be changed as well. person#15504 person#131067 A few others... 5.1 English Mix ---> 5.1 Mix BD Compression ---> Blu-Ray Compression Blu-ray Encoding ---> Blu-Ray Encoding Blu-ray Quality Assurance ---> Blu-Ray Quality Assurance Cgi Director ---> CGI Director Original creator ---> Original Creator Original Project Translator ---> Translation or Original Translation (Ex: anime#6237) Project Translators ---> Translation (Ex: company#9260) Speical Thanks ---> Special Thanks To Tranlsation ---> Translation Produer ---> Producer [Edit]A few more for companies.....
