Caitlin Glass is a perfect choice to direct a high school romance dub.
It's cool that yet another Funi show gets to bring back a vet who moved to LA in a lead role thanks to at-home-recording. I think Alejandro Saab will have a lot of fun with Miyamura.
I think this is Marisa Duran's first major role, let alone the female lead, which is an interesting contrast with Hori being played by such a Main Heroine vet as Haruka Tomatsu on the Japanese side.
This isn't the first time Zeno and Anairis have been in a role together, but this might be the one where they interact the most, which should be fun for them. I don't think I've heard Anairis in a "genki" role as far as her anime roles, so her as Yuki should be interesting.
I've never heard of Y. Chang before, but I feel bad for him given how little Shu has gotten to do in the show up unto this point.
I have also never heard of any of the people voicing the student council.

Horimiya shares a lot of the same ADR team as Fruits Basket (same director and adaptive scriptwriter), which I think bodes very well for it! Plus its a pretty neat cast with a lot of relative newcomers, or at least new to Funi.
While there are definitely some actors who have a lot of experience (after hearing Alejandro in shows like Kono Oto, I think he'll be perfect), some I haven't heard at all (like Hori's VA or the class president's). And some actors I've only heard in a couple shows - I only really knew Y. Chang from Akudama Drive's (fantastic btw) dub.
Really excited about this one! Plus its nice to compare this type of mostly unexpected casting with SK8 The Infinity's somewhat more archetypal casting (just by general voice type I mean - not the actual roster of actors or anything). Not saying either route is better than the other, but its nice to have both when each casting style works best depending on the show and/or director.

Excited for this! Big opportunity for Marisa Duran. Looking forward to seeing how everyone does.

Call me gramps, but I do not recognize anyone on this cast list... WHICH IS JUST FINE! Just makes me feel old. Too used to seeing dub cast lists from the 90s and early 00s.
Horimiya manga (and now the anime) are in my top 10 lists easily. This series has something special, like Takagi-san, that makes me really appreciate it. The anime has been greatly enjoyable so far. CloverWorks has done some amazing things. Can't wait to hear what the English dub brings to the table.

Yes! I was hoping this would get a dub, then again it was too popular not to. Always glad to see Funimation reach out to L.A. actors for their dubs.

Horimiya has been one of my top favorite shows of the season so I'm really excited for it to get a dub and I'm surprised it's being dubbed this early even before some of the big name sequel shows of the season have gotten dubs yet. The cast looks great and I can't wait to check it out. I might switch over to watching this one dubbed.

Seems like Funimation is prioritizing their Aniplex shows (well, the ones they can dub, since Cells at Work! is probably still going to be an LA dub).
Clifford Chapin left The Day I Became a God (Caitlin Glass took over) presumably so he could get a start on the sequel shows of this season (Dr. Stone, Slime).

Yup, I am old. Do not recognize a single name on this list. 'Cept Caitlin Glass obviously. Funny, while reading the manga I originally imagined Glass as the voice of Hori. Close enough!

Most of these people are either brand new or haven't been active for very long, so its not just old age getting in the way

Yes! A Horimiya (semi) Simuldub- just what I wanted! And I’m a big fan of Zeno Robinson and Alejandro Saab, so I’m glad to see them here.
Frankly, I always welcome new blood in Dubs. Especially for Funimation. After watching their Simuldubs for years, you start seeing certain VAs coming or you’re just waiting for them to show up. It’s not a bad thing to me since I do love most of their regulars, but it’s nice to see more of the lesser known VAs get their big break.
But I am surprised to find that Y. Chang is now a VA and he’s also Hacker in Akudama Drive. I followed his YouTube channel YEARS ago, when he was making ENG covers of anime OPs. Wow.

That might explain some of the Fruits Basket vibes I was getting from the first episode.
I've noticed lately that there have been several series with casts that are very new or have people that have mostly been in smaller roles. Between that and having LA actors in some shows and how we've now had shows, like Sakura Wars, upload their dubs all at once, I kind of wonder if remote recording has encouraged a bit of experimentation.

I've noticed that, too. I wonder if that is coming down from Sony? Considering that Funimation has its own shows, and dubbing is much slower right now, it sort of feels like they might be getting sidetracked dubbing Aniplex titles.
