It was absolutely miserable to actually play and had power-creep so bad it was comical, but I'll kind of miss some of its story stuff. Some of its events had way better crossover writing than any proper SRW game in years (probably a result of less oversight).

The main reason I'm sad is that there were still so many "irregular" series that I wanted to see in a SRW game and this was the best game for them to debut. Well, I can only pray the game they annouced some time ago will feature either Lyrical Nanoha or Symphogear.

They didn't announce a new title. They haven't since T in fact. And the next title is mostly likely going to be a new OG since those typically come out on the anniversaries (which 2021 is. In fact, it's the 30th.)

Except that V was also part of the celebration of the 25th anniversary. Yes, it was actually released in 2017, but that didn't stop Bandai from putting that shiny 25 in the cover and starting credits.
That aside, I checked the release dates of the franchise. It's true that the first OG game, Super Robot Wars Gaiden, was released in 1996, the 5th anniversary, but there was no OG game in 2001, 2006 or 2011. Now, I could consider the games released in the following years to be anniversary games, but that just reinforces that V is indeed an anniversary game despite missing the proper year for two months. So I don't see how it being the anniversary of the franchise ensures the next game will be an OG.

You know, I was oddly fond of this game and I'll definitely miss it.
Mind you, I wasn't really a regular spender and just went free to play most of the time.
