I think this is just streaming, like the deal they have with Nozomi. NISA stopped licensing new anime or producing dubs so I doubt if they have any interest paying for any dubs. Funimation is dubbing some stuff licensed by Aniplex since they are both Sony companies.

Man, this just makes me sad that the license expired for House of Five Leaves. I would love to be able to watch that in a high quality stream again.
That being said, I never got around to watching Hanasaku Iroha, so I’m happy to get the chance to soon!

Would like to see Kimi no Todoke get a dub if they were able to.

I would love this! It’s not happening, but I sure wish it were.

I think people are making a lot of assumptions here that Funimation is going to magically dub everything from the NIS catalog. NIS still owns the rights and Funimation is just streaming it like they do with Nozomi's catalog. Also they're in the middle of a pandemic right now and people are overestimating just how much Funimation is able to dub from home right now.

Does this include the second season of Eccentric Family? I would guess not, but I would really love a home video release of season 2.

For Eccentric Family, the version of this announcement on CrunchyRoll's site says Funimation will have Season One. I haven't checked Funy's site yet.
Crunchy's site still lists them having both seasons.
I'm also still hoping for a season 2 physical release in North America. Pretty please?

Funimation's site doesn't specify, and Crunchyroll News says only season 1. (Season 2 was licensed by Crunchyroll anyways long after NIS stopped licensing.
It's a shame Katanagatari is not included in this, I guess NIS's rights expired long ago. Now it seems like it's in Aniplex's vault.

I'd love a physical release as well. Too bad NISA couldn't put it out, their releases were great. I wish they'd come back to the the anime business

Hopefully they redub Cardcaptor Sakura. The Animax dub isn’t as bad as expected, but it’s not nearly up to the standards of most current dubs.

While Funimation may not be able to do it themselves, I don't think NISA giving up on anime necessarily dooms those shows from getting dubs. Anohana got re-licensed by Aniplex and they went ahead and dubbed it, so if NISA's rights expire, the shows have the possibility of getting dubbed.
