^ Often sought, seldom seen. Omni magazine, sister zine to Penthouse, tried to publish sci-fi stories with stronger ero content, imho, back in the 1980s, but I think it failed as a magazine in general.
I dunno, if Ultra Jump can make it work, more power to 'em. I wouldn't mind.

uh huh.
This seems like... a very... ambitious idea.
One that's doomed to fail, or succeed in a different(or perhaps planned) manner.
Maybe this publisher doesn't have this issue but there's a lot of Isekai manga with terrible stories but great art. I've tried a lot of manga and LN based on the cover art and a brief description. I've dropped quite a bit and others I kept reading out of obligation for starting.
I feel like asking for an Erotic Isekai is like asking for the most superficial manga you can get at this point in time.
Hopefully, something genuinely interesting is produced by this and we don't get yet another bland transported to another world and now I've got a harem. Even though that kind of plot seems perfect for the criteria.

World's End Harem has an interesting premise. Too bad it also has an annoying MC and boring secondary characters.

This sounds like one of those gambit ploys the Jump editors in Bakuman come up with.
I have to admit, it does sound exciting though.

The frustrating thing is that premise of "erotic isekai" is so broad, it's hard to know what the contest holders are looking for. Do they want something in the vein of New Adult/Romance novels, where sex is the main draw, but not the explicit reason for the plot, or is this something like Omegaverse books, where the setting itself is structured around certain kinks, making sex a part of the premise?
I actually feel like a lot of manga could stand to incorporate sex, sexuality, or even just sensuality in a variety of ways, but it feels like a lot of what gets published and sold stateside is just boilerplate fanservice material, just with visible nipples. I hope whatever comes of this ends up being something more than just an excuse to have beautiful people (or more likely beautiful women) in sexy poses.

(A big problem with eroticism is that a lot of the demand for porn comes from people who have unreasonable expectations for sexual relationships, bECAUSE they have &c, and they expect their porn to reflect that. Which is to say: significant segments of your market are actively opposed to coherent or plausible characterisation or plotting, while others will insist on it. This significantly complicates marketing)

Well, they did say "It is not necessary to include graphic or explicit sexual content.", so I guess you don't need to write something where sex is the main draw ("The theme may be ero, but we aren't just looking for stories based around that kind of situation"). It sounds like they want it be sexy but still have character development and non-sex related intrigue.
I bet a bunch of the submissions are slave erotica genre as usual. "I got bullied in the normal world and died and got reborn in an isekai and my power is enslaving people also the people who bullied me are in this world too so I'm gonna get sexy revenge". Shit like that.
It'd be nice to have a story with world building and interesting characters who also just happen to be sexually comfortable.

If you like the idea of that, check out 'y: the last man' an American comic with a very similar premise.
One day every single mammal with a y chromosome dies instantly except the main character and his pet monkey and unless humanity finds a solution all mammalian life is doomed to extinction.
The best part is not every girl is unrealistically hot and thirsty and you get to see how alot of these characters adjust to their lives without their partners, brothers, fathers, best friends, etc. Theres a hilariously ironic and sad story early on about a girl prior to the eventspent all her money on a boob job to boost her sex appeal in the entertainment industry but now she's a garbage collector
@whiskeyii
my thoughts exactly, I've nothing against erotic isekai but when the most interesting thing about a manga is the sex, why not just make it hentai?(I'm sure there's complications like appeal, revenue, popularity and more factors involved)
There aren't a lot of manga I can think of that have equal parts sex appeal and interesting story but off the top of my head there's shokugeki and stone wars. Alot of titles started interesting but devolved over time.
I'm sure a lot of this stems from the fact that's it's much harder to write a story that appeals to broad constantly changing tastes, compared to writing(or drawing) hot women or various fetishes. The latter is just easier to do because it's surface-level appeal.

So, does "Erotic Isekai" include Boys Love? Cause that'd be new

If anything, comics like Sunstone have demonstrated its possible to make BDSM stories with wide(r?) appeal so long as you take the time to make the characters involved more like real people with lives, families, and interests and less like walking BDSM stereotypes. I’m not saying it wouldn’t be very tricky to navigate, but it feels like it’s at least possible to build a story around a 24/7 submissive gimmick if you wanted the allure of a “sex slave” without all the other problematic baggage.
