Does the chair shuffling at Gainax even matter at this point? They're barely even a hollowed out husk of their former selves. I doubt anything of consequence will ever come out of them again, other than scandals.

Considering you are getting King putting their fingers in again, along with Kadokawa, and Trigger getting a seat at the table too, it could be a turn around.

Seeing the first two names says to me it comes with investment of some sort, which Gainax has been lacking of late after personnel departures. Especially in Kadokawa's situation, seeing large organisations investing in studios, probably to easier to keep down production costs for properties.

Seeing Trigger, though, makes me think of sentimentality of their origin, along with rebuilding the brand reputation because both Trigger and Khara will be linked with their Gainax origins, and will affect them too.

I may just be being optimistic here, and could be wrong, but these placements seem very much reputation rebuild and hopefully bring it back to what the studio was known for.

And Groundworks, which CEO currently will operate the chair, is basically a nameplate for the handling the Evangelion (and Dragon's Dentist) rights. Basically - it's Khara in disguise.

Sweet, didn't know that before. So technically 3 of the old guard back at Gainax, which will hopefully rebuild the studio as I said before. Cynics might say they will pick the bones, though

Like early Google, they need an outsider 3rd-party to administer adult supervision
