Was much put off by the title of 8th Son and was planning to avoid it as the dumb show it sounded like, but after the teaser and especially the amazing music (opener?) I am eager to see it. Truly, the power of advertising when done right...

If it's with the hope they would dub it, I wouldn't be too worried. Crunchyroll has been dubbing pretty much all their Isekai shows as of late.

Personally, I would rather Crunchyroll get an anime and stream it worldwide minus Asia, and then it gets a dub 1-2 months later, than Funimation doing a 2 week behind dub, but only available in a handful of countries (the sub being available in some other countries via other Sony-owned services). Crunchyroll’s LA dubs have been really good lately, and I’d much rather they get a show for people all around the world to see.

It was a rather depressing headline.

Joys of the remnants of the old FuniRoll deal, I guess. Might be a bit different going forward with newer properties, but any still under that deal are screwed Sad

They still could, they still go Slime after all. Its not like Funi and Crunchy don't share shows anymore.

Eh I prefer Funi's dubs over Crunchy's so I much rather they get something and do their simuldubs than sit around waiting to see IF Crunchy is going to do something.

I'm in the same boat pretty much. Funidubs generally are better still.

They only seem to be sharing shows that are owned by Aniplex or were previously shared under the old deal.

Given Crunchyroll personally announced the three other shows with no word from Funimation, I'm guessing they're Crunchy exclusives.

Crunchyroll's been dubbing more of their exclusives as of late. I just wish they did a better job promoting/announcing them.

I've liked the Cruncyhroll dubs I've heard. They've all been pretty solid and cast well in my experience.

it's the fault of the people who amke the other genres. Like the ebst they can do is "just another generic shounen" while in isekai I just stumbled upon oregairu in isekai.

I was really turned off by the "8th Son" summary thinking it's just another dumb isekai series but now after watching the trailer, I thought, "Damn that looks insanely interesting, I'm gonna have to watch that!" Anime hyper

And seriously, I was really looking forward to the Spider one. I love the manga and the LN but that animation is still so god-forsaken ugly! I thought they were supposed to fix that terrible stuff which is why it got delayed for so long but noooooooooooo! Damn, I don't know whether to skip it entirely or try to endure the animation for the sake of fandom love. -__-;

With the fact that WarnerMedia owns Otter Media which owns Crunchyroll, one would think WarnerMedia's deep pockets could help get CR at least 1-2 "Worldwide but China and Japan" simulcasts each season.
