The series is, at heart,
a disappointment that didn't give the world the isekai gifs it deserves. Seriously anime, you had one job!

The simuldub didn’t include the dubbed songs. Those were added later and probably account for the longer delay between the TV airing and this release. I agree that they’re not the best adaptations, but you can’t blame it on the streaming schedule.

"Fuuka? Oh right, THAT series..."

The series that I know nothing about but everything about. Forget it, Jake, it's Kouji Seo...

I stopped taking Seo seriously after a Town Where You Live... and that's all I have to say.

I once tried watching Suzuka, but had to give it up because the main two characters annoyed the piss out of me and most of the side characters weren't much to speak of either. And it sounds like Fuuka follows up on the Kou tradition of having the one sensible person -- girls in both these cases -- fulfill the role of "girl who gets to date the main lead for a while until they're dumped for the main female lead".

Haven't watched Town Where You Live, but one of my friends did, and well.... let's just say the things he said about it were all "Yeah, that sounds familiar."

As soon as I read its from the creator of Suzuka, Hard Pass. I've had enough of forced dramatic moments and crappy plot points from this author. Between Suzuka and A Town where you lived.. your really not missing much.

Kill it with fire!

Fuuka COULD have been good. The manga equivalent of the adapted material does work, and is actually a decent story. Yet, for some reason, the people behind the anime decided to sideline the titular character (she wasn't even an inspiring character or support for most of the anime), and then go down a "what-if" route with a certain truck-kun. All this did was make Fuuka (the character) uncharacteristically petty and inconsiderate, and it removed the emotion from the main action in the final few episodes.

I agree that Fuuka is an inconsistent show with shaky writing and mediocre visuals, but at the end of the day I found it charming and endearing (the fanservice is also nice). I am happy to add this set to my collection.

Im actually wishing they had adapted Seo's lesser known manga Cross Over that got axed years ago. he's better at writing sports action than romance IMO

Being a fan of Suzuka, I had to watch Fuuka. Don't intend to touch the manga for each series, but I am a fan of both of the anime.

In all honesty, if I hadn't heard of the tie between the 2 series, I wouldn't have watched Fuuka. That's because I watched Town Where You Live...and hate that series with a passion. Walked away from that series thinking that both the MCs were just horrible people.

I'm also glad this anime deviated from the manga, don't know how I would've felt if it didn't Laughing
