Hello there everyone.
I am currently trying to find appearances of Hungary or hungarian things / people in anime and manga. There are a few bigger things, like the intro of 11 Eyes, and of course Hungary in the Hetalia series. Also there are some sceneries from Budapest in Trinity Blood, Gochuumon wa Usagi Desu ka? and Accel World that I already know about. But I'm also interested in smaller things, such as flags (ex: Orange) or music (ex: Only Yesterday, Nodame Cantabile) or names (ex: Ferid Bathory from Owari no Seraph) or anything actually. 
If you know any such references please let me know. |

Manga-ka Matsumoto Kyūjo wrote and illustrated Bar: Mangalica, a manga about a bar of which barkeeper is a Mangalica pig. The Tokyo office of Pick Szeged found the manga interesting and contacted Matsumoto Kyūjo, and later Matsumoto was invited as a state guest to Hungary by the Hungarian government, and she dined with Prime Minister Orbán Viktor. Matsumoto also wrote and illustrated Since I Like Pigs Too Much, I Have Become a State Guest to Hungary, a manga about her having been invited to Hungary. Manga-ka Momoyuki Kotori wrote and illustrated My Chopin, and one of the principal characters of the manga is Liszt Ferenc. Publishing firm Gakushū Kenkyūsha published educational manga Great Composers of the World, and a chapter in it is about Bartók Béla. |

 I only saw the cover of Since I Like Pigs Too Much, I Have Become a State Guest to Hungary but I thought that it wasn't a real manga.

In the Erzsébet manga by Cuvie, Empress Elisabeth of Austria talks about Hungary, and Hungarian woman Báthory Ida has become a lady-in-waiting for Empress Elisabeth.

I have dug up the Since I Like Pigs Too Much, I Have Become a State Guest to Hungary dōjinshi by Matsumoto Kyūjo, on which Poplar Publishing-edition Since I Like Pigs Too Much, I Have Become a State Guest to Hungary is based, and I have re-read those dōjinshi about Matsumoto Kyūjo's travel to Hungary. Those dōjinshi are certainly manga. |
