It's definitely the most interesting show this season, both from a character and animation point of view. But the story could have definitely used one or two more edit. Large swaths of time are wasted on the idea that the school is trying to stop the girl at every steps for... nothing. This bring nothing to the story, this entire column didn't even refer to that subplot because it's literally useless and I would have loved to trade all that time toward just more of the girls screwing around or making anime.

Otherwise, not exactly a criticism but the more I watch the less respect I have for director. In Shirobako their director was a bumbling idiot who took forever to do his job which wasted everyone time and I though that was the point, the idea being that even if everyone at the studio is trying their hardest if the person in charge is incompetent you end up with a dud with passing moment of brilliance. But here again the director takes forever to come up with a story that's... not particularly interesting. She took well over half the project time coming up with a plot that's barely held together, doesn't really offer any interesting hook and anybody could have come up with given maybe 15 minutes. Is that just how director are in general?

I actually made a tweet with that "there's nothing fun about social media" screencap (only with a less toothy version of Kanamori) once. It didn't get much response, though. To paraphrase Kanamori herself, "no one's gonna like or retweet a post by someone that nobody knows about".

Neue Deustche Harte Club? They worship Rammstein's music, like I do. Smile

I really have to watch this show though. For one thing, I like the director's work.

More like how storytellers in general. Of course what they consider good, doesn't always cater to everyone tastes. Personally I find the story is pretty decent considering it's a 30 mins short.
