Can someone please explain the cast changes of the dub version Fruits Basket remake and why?

well the most obvious change would be that Aaron Dismuke isn't 11 years old anymore so trying to play a 12 year old kid just wont work now.
Daphne Gere and Parisa Fakhri haven't been in anything for a long time, so they have probably retired from voice acting and thus we need replacements for Saki and Arisa Akito was spoiler[the wrong gender] in the 2001 version so a change was necessary Meredith doesn't show up much unless its Android 18. probably busy. personally, I thought she sounded too old for Kagura and struggled a bit to reach the high energy performance necessary for the character. I think Tia sounds much better Kimberly Grant hasn't been in anything in over a decade. probably retired, so need a new Momiji |

What about Julie Mayfeild, Chad Cline, Kate Bristol, Avery Rice Williams, Joshua Huber, Sara Hussey, Heaven Tubbs, Libby Smith, Hollie Townson and Amber Cotton are replaced or plan to be replaced?

You have read about Takaya's request for the Japanese cast,,right? Takaya was adamant that the new production have an entirely new cast from the old one.
Maybe they are emulating those wishes with the English voice cast too. Maybe she has explicitly also asked Funimation to also completely replace the voice cast? The idea being that this is "All New" -not a repeat of what came before. |
