This is good news for manga artists, publishers and manga readers who actually pay to support the industry.
Edit: I just realized he is still 28 years old. Hope he will atone for his crime and, then, start a new life with his very talented website management skills for something not illegal

I think he thinks that the Philippines would be a safe haven for him, but he forgot that Duterte is friends with Abe.

As a fellow kababayan, I'm a bit confused when the Immigration bureau said “His presence in the country is a risk to public safety and security."

The Kotaku article says the guy holds Japanese citizenship, so it's likely he has both Philippines and Japan passports. If that's the case then it was easier for Japan to request the Philippine government detain a Japanese citizen violating their laws outside the country, than if the guy was not a dual-citizen.
