My vote is they'll work with John Lasseter.

Oh, that makes sense, considering that Lasseter's friends with Miyazaki already, and he's worked on adapting Ghibli movies.
I wouldn't be surprised if he was too busy, though.

That's my guess, too. From his TCM interviews, they seem to have great respect for each other.
It would be really awesome if there was a collaberation with Pixar.

I'd love to see them work with Sylvain Chomet. "The Triplets of Belleville" is perhaps one of the finest animated motion pictures of all time; and to see him collaborate with the most respected anime company would equal a project that would mesmerize all who watch it.

I concur to an extent. It would seem like a nice fit, but I don't see all the pieces falling in the right place, if you see where I'm coming from. I would see it for it's honest attempt.
Side note: there is an animted film from Spain (with an English-English dub) that gives off a very Ghibli vibe ala My Neighbor Totoro. I don't think this is it, but it's coming out later this year.

Hmmm;
Takahata has already got Ghibli to distribute Michel Ocelot's Kirikou and the Sorceress, and will soon be distributing his Azur et Asmar... maybe the next step is to actually make a film with him?
