I'm honestly really interested in seeing how they do this. Go-Busters was great (except for the obvious executive meddling), and it seems like they're keeping the plot fairly similar. I'm just wary because of how ruined Gokaiger was...

There was almost 100 percent turnover in the writers room between Super Megaforce and Dino Charge. Jonathan Tzachor left and Chip Lynn returned to the show. Jeffrey Newman (RPM), Mark Litton (MMPR-PRT, MR, VRT) and Ann Austen (MMPR-PRT, an EP for NS and DT) contributed to scripts.
That being said, Hasbro had a role in choosing Go-Busters--remember, the news of Beast Morphers came the same week Saban dumped Bandai and gave them the toy deal. They chose it, an exec said, because they loved the designs, the possibilities. They put a chunk of change into remaking not just the ranger suits, but the monster suits. They cast ranger actors with an extra emphasis on physicality. If nothing else, this is going to be exciting to watch.

I am curious to see if hasbro can make power rangers interesting. I hope they go the super sentai route of making new seasons their own universes.

That train left the station years ago, though Dino Charge and RPM are sequestered in their own dimensions. This past season had Wes, Koda and Gemma recruit the rangers to save Tommy and other retro rangers (Kat, TJ, Rocky, Trent, Cassie, Gia) who were plucked out of time and cloned. Wes later sent them dimension hopping tech that led to a brief Sudarso bros. teamup in the Christmas special.

Even the Super Sentai shows are not really strictly their own universes as every season features a big crossover movie with the previous season. I'm just hoping we'll get a new trailer for it soon. I hope Beast Morphers does well as Go-Busters was the kind of show designed to appeal to the Western fandom with the characters even using Western terms like Megazord and "it's morphin time."

Ah you're right (though as I understand it those movies are often only quasi canon). It would be better to say I would like it if they varied more in tones and ideas, it seems like Power Rangers is always about high school or college kids and nothing quite of the scope of say Kyuuranger.
I believe the cross over movies are now a thing of the past, though I could be wrong, LupinxPat didn't have one.

I was under the impression people only liked the original Power Rangers, specifically Tommy. Isn't it imperative they keep the original in the spotlight?

Sentai is never designed to appeal to westerners.

Minus Go-Busters numerous PR references and Ninninger literally had a 6th ranger whose suit had a cowboy hat with a star on his face and his morpher was hamburger. Stop it.

I mean, Tommy has had a lead role in Forever Red, some of DinoThunder, Legendary Battle and Dimensions in Danger, and a version of the character was the villain in the recent Shattered Grid arc in the comics. Tommy is easily the most consequential character because he's one of the most tenured, the most remembered. But the other seasons matter too in creating the mythos of the show. There are younger folks who didn't grow up with Tommy; they grew up with Shane and Kira and Bridge.

Hasbro bought the whole kit and kaboodle for some $500 million last year. The franchise is un-killable.

Kids and toku fans. There's even a convention exclusively for Power Rangers held every year.
