It's still so surreal seeing the director and writer specifically do a sequel of an anime series (putting aside a movie). Usually, they're set of whatever anime they work on feel conclusive, regardless of what the reception to that is. Either way, I'm stoked!

I'm hyped. Let's go!
I still can't believe how much this show improved from the first season to the second. Like I enjoyed watching the first season enough, but it didn't really gel well with me, especially how it tried mixing in humor, and it felt like some episodes were just the series spinning its wheels.
Then we got the second season, starting with the incredible 4 episode prequel arc, which was probably the best stretch of 4 episodes from that entire year, imo. That got followed up by a much more coherent and focused continuation of the events of the first season, and adding in the Western authors made for some incredible moments, including literally a character whose powers is "Screw the rules, I have money!".
Hopefully this third season gives us more of the second season's type of content.

I wonder what’s the whole deal with that movie is it required cause of continuity? either way I’ll watch it is just they seem to make a big deal out of it as for the 3rd season like I’m cool it’s still going but I hope they step it up this season and not just in animation cause that 2nd season while ambitious it was a mess and kinda forgettable in my book

If I had one bone to pick with the writing it would be the choice of Western authors adapted for the second season. I can only guess that they chose ones who are well know to the Japanese. Lucy Maud Montgomery, for instance, is probably more popular in Japan than she is even in her native Canada and that's saying something. I think Virginia Woolf would have made an interesting thematic counterpoint to Dazai.

...well shoot. Maybe I should try and pick this one up again.
I saw the first season, it was okay, but I was scared off from the second one because of all of the yaoi fangirls... (I hate queerbaiting, either commit or shut it down.) Especially if it's a fandom thing.
And since I barely managed to finish Reborn or Drrr during it's hay day due to the same issue, I wonder if it's worth the obnoxious stress all over again?

^ I hate to break it to you, but if you're going to skip out on an anime just because you hate yaoi fangirls, you're going to miss out on like 90% of anime with bishounen guys in them.

Been waiting for this since the cool second season finale. Still need to see the movie though.
Loved Kyouka finally becoming an official member which I'd been hoping for. And plus Dazai setting up the forced team up of Atsushi and Akutagawa lol. A bit more Kunikida would have been nice since he didn't get as much screen time in season 2 as in season 1, so hopefully he'll get more in the new season. Akiko as well could use more time.
