I assume they are not referring to a second season of the Ancient Magus' Bride. I do agree that GitS SAC S3 seems like a possibility.

I don't think they would of announced Vinland Saga in March if it wasn't coming out until May 2021. I also don't thing IG Port is the main investor in Vinland Saga, I'm pretty sure Twin Engine is.

It is probably an anime original work or an adaptation of a major work from one of IG Port's magazines animated by Wit Studio or Production I.G. The targeted simultaneous worldwide release in May 2021 makes me think that this is one of the anime in the partnership between Netflix and Production I.G. and Wit Studio.

I was going to be sarcastic and post how it will actually be yet more GITS, but it's seems that people here really want that to be the case, here!
On one hand, I cannot blame them, as the first GITS was what started my anime fandom and I have great respect for the franchise as a whole. On the other hand, however, I'm also really tired of I.G going to the same well over and over (both directly—in terms of works within the franchise—and indirectly—seeing bits of GITS' influence in their works outside it). I hope it's something actually brand-new and not a reheated dish from the past…

I'm hoping for Stand Alone Complex 3rd GIG (4th GIG?), Psycho Pass season 3, or literally anything Appleseed that isn't that godforsaken ugly CGI that we've had to endure forever.
Something new from the Blood "franchise" would also be cool.
