I'm a bit confused how the film takes place right in between the Forest Camp Training arc and where the anime is currently, given which classmates are present in the movie. I just assumed it took place before the Forest Camp arc.

LOL WTF!?

I'm pretty sure the Forrest training camp ended with Bakugou being kidnapped.

So unless we got someone with a quirk which replicates another person perfectly, quirk included, then I"m going to pitch this as non-cannon.

Or this is some weird dream sequence, or ends up being some Fan-Fic written by Deku as an excuse to imagine himself fighting alongside All Might

Wasn't it set before the forest training camp? I remember prior promotional material saying as such.

Yeah this movie is set between Season 2 and Season 3. So before the forest training and after the end of term exams.

Just to jump in on the bandwagon, this film cannot take place after the forest training camp arc as Bakugou was kidnapped at that point.

The film canonically takes place after the exams of the 2nd season.

Also the film is canon.

Now if this does take place Before the Forest Training Camp, as some have suggested, then it can be canon, but this brings up other issues.

Mainly the regression of character growth, and inconsistencies of abilities that were present in the film, yet no where to be seen for a while after the timeline of the film. You learned this cool new trick in the movie, why didn't you do it during the anime?

Also, the use of certain items or equipment that allowed specific things to occur in the film, but never again showing up in the regular anime, is a bit annoying. Especially if the event is suppose to be canon.
