It begins! I saw Magical Girl Ore's first two episodes last week and it was...a weird experience. A parody anime with magical characters....it might take me some time to get used to the comedy.
Gegege no Kitaro is a great start so far! I like some of the character cast already and want to know more about them. Haven't seen the original series before so going into it fresh.

This is my first dip into the Gegege no Kitaro universe, though I've read some of Mizuki's non-Kitaro works. Two items of note from the first episode (beyond what Rebecca writes):
- the call back to Mizuki in explaining why Kitaro helps humans
- the sequence through which the letter gets from the Yokai mailbox to Kitaro was a nice integration of the human world to the natural world to the yokai world.

I'm only interested in Caligula for the unicorns, and I'm only interested in Magical Girl Ore for the Moon Prince in Star*Prince.

Do not do no review. I think this would be much better for the site. Friendly advice!

Went into watching GeGeGe no Kitaro clueless and I instantly became a fan of the old-style character designs, (I never would have thought a talking eyeball with a little tush would be cute, but there it is). Loving the lead character's drollness. Production value was good and the end has me curious, so queue'd it is.

The only Kitaro I'd seen before was the Noitamina show from some years back, "Hakaba Kitaro" which adapted from the very early form of the manga.
This is very different.
That said, I did like it.

Magical girl Ore was... meh. Wanted to like it, but it was slow and those musical segment took forever. I get that the joke is that there terrible at singing... but that doesn't mean I want to hear the full song.

They probably meant to say "don't do any reviews". Ignore them. All they seem to do is go into review threads to say the reviews suck, the reviewers themselves suck, and they ruin the site etc.

While GeGeGe no Kitaro was clearly aimed at children, it was still fairly effective horror and it looks pretty decent, both visually and story wise.
I thought Magical Girl Ore was hilarious. “Does a crass, self-aware parody of magical girl shows sound like a fun time to you?” Yes. Yes it does. It probably won’t be my favorite show of the season but I’ll definitely be watching...two weeks from tomorrow when the third episode airs

it is only fitting that the horse girls would be the first out of the gate for this season. Odd as it may seem, I cannot see anything on the upcoming schedule that has gathered quite as much anticipation within my circles. And this even includes the Legend of Galactic Heroes remake.

Mentioning MLP's Equestria Girls in regards to Uma Musume is like seeing a child who knows only a few things make an association about something because it shares the slightest little feature with one of the things he knows.
It's golden, comedy, really. Never change Rebecca.

I'm so glad you enjoyed my joke, Sunny milk. I was afraid some people would think I was being serious.

The second episode of Usamusume is definitely stronger than the first, though I think Rebecca overreacted to the gag about the trainer grabbing Special Week's legs. These first two episodes were mild enough that unless things get skeevier later on, I could see this getting on my kid-friendly anime list with a TV-PG. No swearing, no fanservice beyond a brief pool scene with one-piece swimsuits, etc. P.A.Works usually keeps it pretty tasteful.

I wish you could block people in the forums e.e;
Anyways, yay new season!
So far I'm a touch meh on what's up, but Gegege no Kitaro seems intruiging. I'll check it out.
I was a bit excited for Uma Musume for being silly and fun, but the dehumanizing thing has me wary. I'll check it out still, but bleh....I hate that in anime...
