An ABe series after 15 years? 2018 truly is the year that early 2000s anime made a comeback and I'm all for that!

So disappointing how they made ABe's character designs almost unrecognizable. I was really excited as soon as I read that he was involved in a new series as character designer and saw the visual but once I started watching the PV my excitement was inmediately gone. I would not believe he designed these characters unless someone showed me the staff list for this show. They do not look bad, but they are not distinctive either. I'm still going to check it out because I liked the music and the animation looked pretty good overall. But boy was this a waste of talent.

^^ Hate to say it but I kinda agree. Don't get me wrong, the trailer looks awesome and I'm super excited to have Abe involved in a new anime after so many years, but it's true that the characters don't look that distinguishable to me (I mean, not like they did in Lain or Haibane).
In any case, I'm so happy this project is still on (I was kinda worried that we hadn't heard any news since that kadokawa announcement last year). Between this and Boogiepop it looks that we have 2 potential AOTY candidates announced in a week

This looks great, and the soundtrack/sound design previewed in the trailer is excellent. 2018 is really looking like a massive year for anime.

Amen to that, bro. And with today's Amazon announcements we can pretty much confirm that 2018 is going to put the rest of this decade to shame anime-wise... and I couldn't be happier for that
