I'm curious about, but not necessarily anticipating, this. LoGH doesn't really need a new adaptation, the original OVA is pretty loyal to the books, and where it isn't, it improves it with additional characterization. I just wish Sentai Filmworks would finally get around to releasing the original on Blu-Ray.

the release should be soon, they said sometime in 2018 and I'd be surprised if they announced it this soon if it'll be a fall/winter release. fingers crossed for summer! it'll be interesting to see what gets into the episodes and what goes into the "movies" instead! |

I'm going to look forward to it though, I was partial to the old character designs. I like the novels best of all so I only hope it raises recognition for the franchise in a good way is all. Some people have been discovering the old anime with Sentai licensing and streaming it. So I can't think the new series will hurt the old version or the books since people will still like whatever they like.

I will watch it, but I am fearful for all the same reasons as others. It is one of the best Anime of all time.
Already when I mention LoGH people confuse it with the more recently named Legend of the Legendary Heroes. But now I'll have to now clarify I meant the old classic. Outside of updated visuals the trailer has done little to confirm to me the staff here 'gets' it. |
