ok so alot of these postcards are cute, some of them cool and a few hot then i see the super sonico.
what the hell? There's just so many things wrong with it casually appearing on this list without some sort of warning. I wish there was more P3 in the P5 greeting but hey I'll take it. Also we need another season of s the order a rabbit? since like last year PS: Not trying to shame anyone who likes it. Everyone has their preferences. |

Being a dog person, this is a cool year for me. The dog in the picture from the Ghibli Museum I believe is a Tosa Inu, the largest Japanese dog breed.

I think I understand the "marshmallow"/voluptuous girl fetish, but SuperSonico here seems to have gone over the top and down the other side to gross...Happy Dog Year everyone! Lift a glass for Shigure (FruitsBasket).

Awesome, thanks! Always nice to see celebratory art. I love the 'year of the dog'-theme going on in many
Tsukumizu (author Girl's Last Tour) also drew something! https://twitter.com/tkmiz/status/947480048956620805 |

What does the text on the dog's robe in the ufotable thumbnail say? "HF" something.
About that pic: OK, so I don't follow the Fate franchise (if I was, I would be watching most of the titles and reading the manga. The collective Fate anime episode and movie count is 150+). However, the thumbnail is what got me. The dog in the picture is Tosa Inu*, a Mastiff-type breed whose home city is Kochi City, Kochi Prefecture. It is a dog fighting breed where they get 2 males in an octagonal ring/chamber and they essentially do doggy sumo. I like the breed, but hate the deed. It doesn't help that dog fights have strong ties with the yakuza. *An article about the Tosa Inu and dog fighting can be found at newsweek.com/2016/09/09/japanese-dogfighting-494843.html. Some sensitive photos. |

I love Satoshi Koike's drawing of Inu-tan. It's a marvelous sight!

It saddens me that more and more magazines are moving away from distributing nengajou, or, if they do, it's just the nth copied versions. I have to hand it to magazines like HanaYume and Animage who still award original cards and the artists who don't mind drawing on paper. The originals are my favorite kind of artwork to collect, so it does sadden me to see more and more digital designs being produced.
I really liked Mizuho Kusanagi's design for 2018. Hopefully, when my copies of HanaYume and Animage arrive, there will be more designs to admire. |
