My biggest question is will Shinji Takamatsu have to find another way to get his beloved Tomokazu Sugita in there or will he be able to keep using him as brawny bathhouse niisan? (And will he maintain his running joke of using Akira Ishida as the first mook villain with the same palette swap character design when returned to normal?)

Yeah, they should stop a beloved franchise with lots of fans that are excited about this announcement just because you don't enjoy it anymore *rolls eyes*

It's not because "I don't enjoy it anymore", it's because the quality of the show as a whole went down as they took the same joke and repeated it too many times. Some things are just better if they are not dragged on for a long time. The OVA was a fine enough ending to the series.
By the way, I was a fan who got very excited at the announcement of the second season. So unless they show that they are going to take the series in a new direction, I'm not optimistic about this project at all.
