I remember this game from when I was a kid. It used to be ubiquitous in arcades. It's a fun game but how's that going to translate into a TV series? I have no idea. It'll be interesting to see all the same when it comes out.

My favorite all-time game is Ms. Pacman. 2nd is Chrono Trigger. 3rd is Uncharted 2. 4th is Galaga. And I'm a massive dork for having such a ranking. That said, who is the target audience for this? Because despite playing the titular game every couple weeks (and occasionally the Galaga Wars smartphone game), the fact that they're making an anime related to it excites me in no way.

Galaga was a simple shooting game with a simple story. The company making it is brand new and the only thing I see on their website is announcements for shows that they are planning to make. Never say never but even from an established animation company I think the chances of it turning out well would be unlikely.

Well, given there no real plot to this other than being a shooter. There no way they could botch the original plot or story too much. It's weird idea...

Welp, there's no story and no classic characters to screw up, so really all this has to do is show a space battle where a ship gets caught in a tractor beam, gets freed, and links up with another ship to kick butt.
Shouldn't be too hard to build something around that.

As far as I can tell, these are the only dramatic devices they have to hand. Perhaps some fashion of sakuga-rich "Challenging Stage" sequence can be added for good measure.
