Fantastic news.
As a fan of the original series, this is great to hear. I do imagine they would add some anime original content given the length of the current manga though.

Oh 26? well.. at least its more than 1 cour (^_^)
Expecting some (or more) original episodes and I am sure Madhouse can even make filler episodes fun. I just hope this series gets even more popular soon.

It's kinda amazing that in 2017/2018 we're getting new Card Captor Sakura episodes. From the anime club I was involved with, a member was a huge fan but he passed away in 2004, I even 'inherited' his original printing run manga ver Clow Cards on the promise that they were given a good home and kept safe. It's sad that he'll never see this.

The show is airing on NHK and with their current track record (see Bakuman, Log Horizon, Rin-ne and even the first CCS), this will get a sequel season or two so we can count on that happening.

Exciting news, I can't recall the last time a series ever got 26 episodes! (well without extra OVAs and whatnot). Even if it's only one run of 26 and doesn't expand more like the original I'm still happy about a fairly "longer" series.

Are you being sarcastic? Exactly 26...the last one I personally watched was probably Kuromukuro just last year. But there were a lot that were 25 episodes just this year.
I'm kinda sad it's only gonna be 26 episodes but given the the manga just started last year, it makes sense.

Yeah i'm so hype about the CCS: CC (Card Captor Sakura: Clear Card) i mean watched the 1st CCS like 70 episodes so i'm like a Nostalgic Anime Fan

Just this season we have the back halves of Altair and Ballroom, both of which are two-cour. And we have the first halves of Classicaloid 2, Magus Bride and Vanishing Line, all two cour. In spring we had Hero Academia and Virgin Soul with two cours. Black Clover is planned for 51 episodes. Little Witch Academia was two cour. Unless you mean specifically 26 episodes (and I think Magus Bride is getting that?) you don't seem to be very up to date with currently airing anime.

Considering the progress of the source material, I suppose there will be quite some fillers. Which I would find them better than dragged pacing. Especially that I remember the old CCS anime got some of the better fillers.

I'm a huge fan of the original anime, but that is precisely why I am dreading this new series. It seems way too contrived and forced, whenever they do something for an anniversary. I am deathly afraid that they won't be able to live up to the original or do the characters justice. They'll be following the manga canon and doing away with that amazing second movie, so that's already a cause for concern.
I'm kinda jealous that you guys can be so optimistic about it just because it's from the same franchise. That's hardly a seal of quality. Sometimes seeing more of something we liked in the past is not a good thing, if Digimon tri. is anything to go by. Hopefully, they actually know what made CCS so beloved in the first place.

i optimistic becouse it the same studio who did the original card captor sakura the anime art style also looks almost the same and also if they will follow the source it might do justice to the manga so i think you should at least give it a chance.
