I think the most popular buzzword/buzz phrase for mainstream American media would be "fake news".

Kemono Friends is more than a "buzzword". It provided a sense of enlightenment and connected the anime community together in a special way that other shows simply can't reach.

I would hope that unlike these other terms Kemono Friends does not fade away; even if unfortunate production circumstances wind up keeping us from ever getting more of the anime, I hope the experience of the show will be remembered by anime fans for years to come.

Not trying to knock your interest or anything, but it sounds like you think way too highly of Kemono Friends if you think other shows/Fandoms haven't brought fans together in the Kemono Friends has to its fans. Your reaction makes it seem like Kemono friends being nominated to be a buzzword is a bad thing when Its not that deep.

TOUKEN Ranbu, noted in the same post, has done a lot for its fandom, people who have taken an interest in it and through it, the ways of the sword and Japanese history - and for Japans historical society, tourism etc. As a whole but its still a buzzword as it is trendy now and will lose its steam eventually just like Kemono Friends will. The popularity of all things that are currently of interest will die out eventually and people will move on to new things. You probably will too and that's not bad. Just enjoy the thing you enjoy.

No offence but do fujoshis even like female characters? I don't think they would care about something female-centric like Kemono Friends.
