Very happy about this but wondering about the OVA from 2008 that was never brought over, will that be included too?

2008? no you must be wrong the 'It's a Rumic World exhibition' OVA isn't that old (checks on Wikipedia) holy shit where has the time gone? 8 years f*ck! (a swear filter seriously?) If that OVA is included I will be replacing my DVD's (what do you do with old DVD's now anyway?) |

Hell freakin' yes. I was waiting for this announcement ever since I got the seventh set. All OVA's and films in 1 set? Now that makes me extremely happy.
I own all the BD sets of the TV series so this is simply a must have. Can't wait. |

Sweet! But will all this be remastered from film, or merely upconverted from SD video? If the latter, with video masters that old (2000 for the OVA), it would look horrible by today's standards.

I'm really glad to hear the news but hope there is a DVD release as well. I might buy the Blu-ray anyway though but i like having both options

Or the one from 1994, either-- The "Top Ten Song Battle" OVA 1-2, that Viz didn't want to touch because back then they thought they had to dub all the songs. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p8bAJU_pN7k (And wouldn't be able to get the original 90's Viz actors back for the comedy/dialogue segments.) But, Viz is finally going to finish off the Ranma Movie/OVA's, and now....(bwahahahaaa)...onto the NEXT resurrected Rumiko series! Will they bring back Maison Ikkoku, because they already have the dubs to recycle? Will they start negotiations to be Urusei's new owner? Or....will they give up and crap out halfway through Maison like they did every other time? |

^ I don't understand why. It's 2016. You can buy a bluray player for 20 dollars or less. Same as a DVD player. There's no benefit at all to DVD. Most laptops even come with bluray drives now days.

This should be the same master as the Japanese Blu-ray set, which had new telecines from the original film. The 2008 OVA was also included in that set. I'd love to finally see that brought over. |

But not all laptops. Not to mention, I myself do a majority of my physical media watching nowadays at work (it's the only way to survive grueling 11 hour days on Saturday and Sunday - that's 11 hours each of those days mind you), using a portable DVD player. I don't know if they even make portable Bluray players yet, as I've never seen one. I'd imagine they're pricey as hell if they do exist though. |

I sure hope this includes the 2008 Rumic World OVA, which is definitely one of the best of the animated Ranma outings and, even 8 years later, it looks like it could have been made today.

The only problem is can they re-assemble the cast for this one-off and is it worth it? So far all the Viz releases has been utilizing the old recording materials. |

Nice, very happy to see that it's all coming in one set too instead of being broken up. I hope it gets put together nicely in a box that matches the LE TV releases.
I didn't even know (or forgot :p) that existed! I hope it and the other OVA from 2008 come over too! |

I'm definitely double-dipping for this if it's a better source for the movies. I have the old release for both of them, and the video for one is just so dark. Shampoo's hair looks almost black and everyone appears to have a tan in that one. Maybe it's because mine is the old DVD release from the '90s, but it would be nice to have a copy where I don't have to crank up the brightness and contrast on my TV.

I hope they release a specific list of what is exactly going to be on the set.
