Would have predicted an OAD but since the announcement came with the manga I don't think they'd wait for vol 12 for it. There was a drop from season 1 to season 2 but season 2 still ended up selling around 5k average which is higher than most CGDCT shows nowadays. Season 3 is definitely possible.

Hopefully season 3, though I would gladly accept an OVA too!

This is good news. I love this show. It has so much humor, love and craziness. Truly a wonderful piece of work.

A third tv season would certainly be nice, but my wish is a movie where the four girls and Kazuho visit Tokyo. I would love to see how the country girls react to city life.

My bet is on a movie about the airplane trip we never got to see (at the end of the anime timeline they are on the plane, I guess it beats being on a boat).

It could be another OAD or perhaps a movie, but I think there's just enough new manga material for a season 3, although, yes, I know the Yen Press translation is lagging a few volumes behind the Japanese tankoubon releases. To be honest, I'm not exactly sure how much farther along the manga is in Japan, the English manga release is only just now finally publishing the Okinawa trip this month. The official release date for the English version of volume 7 is today, May 23rd, 2017 in fact.
EDIT: Oh, wait, it says right in the freaking article that volume 11 has just been published in Japan and the illustration is the cover of volume 11. Somehow I missed that part. So Silverlink has the better part of 5 volumes of "new" material to adapt, although I believe some episodes of Non Non Biyori Repeat were based on chapters from volume 7 (unless they were completely original stories to the anime).

Isn't there an OVA about that? Sounds familiar.

Yeah, the short 1st OAD episode (a few minutes shorter than a regular TV episode for some reason) covered the last couple of chapters from volume 6 and ended at the same place (the girls on the plane to Okinawa).
I presume the vacation story is continued in volume 7, out this week in English.
