Love her voice, my favorite VA by far. I just started getting in to her music outside of her VA roles about a month ago. As much as it saddens me to hear this news, at least she's not pressing on making things she doesnt care about. And if her involvement with youjo senkis ending and the continuing symphogear are any indication, she will continue to have singing roles through anime.
Hope she feels inspired to pick it back up some time in the future but for now, keep doing you aoi yuki, and ill continue to be a massive fan. |

It seems that Aoi-san is ready for a change of pace...Well, it was a fun experience. I wish Ms. Yūki-san best of luck on her new adventure.

So, in a very polite way. "Guys, this singing career didn't work. I am back to my VA job, thanks for all".

Will she at least be back to voice her character in the upcoming 2nd season of "New Game"?
If not, then who might replace her? Can't wait 'til it comes out. |

Aoi Yūki has stopped solo-singing and is ending her fan club. Aoi Yūki says that this is because she has lost the desire to continue solo-singing and does not want to do things out of habit. Aoi Yūki believes that solo-singing out of habit would be disingenuous to her fans. Aoi Yūki does not want to be disingenuous. I didn't know she was perusing a music career on the side, I'm surprised then she hasn't done any anime theme songs or inserts, unless she's done a few character albums before? Even Yui Makino has had a couple inserts and themes to her name already.

List of works From the ANN Encyclopedia So she has done plenty of anime theme songs, and probably will continue to do so, but she is ending her solo career. |

I'll never wrap my head around the fact that Madoka could sing Los! Los! Los!
Maybe Aoi Yūki wasn't cut out to be a solo artist but she still has so much potential as a voice personality. |

Unfortunate to hear since I like her singing, but at least she's still voice acting.
I just had to laugh at how you educated them over something so simple by repeating what the article said and using the ANN Encyclopedia to educate an Encyclopedia supporter. Highlight of the day. |

Well so long as she's continuing to rock it as Hibiki, I'm good. Credit to her that she's not going to just continue throwing out solo music out of habit. Not sure if it was about sales or just feeling satisfied in being able to have a solo music career. In the end she is a good voice actress and can continue on singing in that respect so not like she's stopping that side of things.

Well, looking at her solo, non-petit milady discography:
2012-2013: Two mini albums 2014: Two singles 2015 (February): Full-length album 2016 (December): Mini album So it wasn't exactly a "full time" solo career. Ayana Taketatsu on the other hand puts out a couple of singles every year. |

This reads to me like she is dissatisfied with a solo singing career that lives in the shadows of Anime characters. In other words she wants to be an original signing artist.
Reality has it that Japan's music industry has too intertwined with Anime that you can't get away from it. Only very few original artists make it. |

I've only seen her at lives as part of of Petit Milady (Animelo Summer Live 2013 and 2016, I missed the 2014 concerts). Being a solo singer is more demanding particularly as a "self producer", to quote the title of a Minori Chihara song (Oniichan dakedo Ai sae Areba Kankeinai yo ne! / OniAi OP) and a Chiaki Ishikawa interview.
Better to be honest with one's self and fans than burn out trying to be something one is not. |
