I never thought I'd see the day, I did drop it in like late 2011 though.

It seems like there just saying the last episode for this arc not the entire series so if they announce more i wouldn't be surprise. Although with boruto coming up i think it would be fitting that they end naruto before it begins so all the focus can be on it.

I just noticed that, well, so much for that.

It can't end at episode 500 since they still have the epilogue chapter 700th to adapt.Though they might put it as Boruto anime first episode..

Yeah I thought so too. Cant end Naruto Shippuden without the final chapter adaption, which in honestly could start off Boruto series if they decide to end there.

Well there is one week in-between this arc's final and Boruto's premiere so perhaps they'll adapt the final chapter as episode 501.

When did we start counting Shippuden as the end of Naruto indefinitely? If they decide to break on the 30th, Boruto is literally the week after..Boruto is apart of the Naruto series.
Haters give it a rest, your unwarranted desperation is showing smh.

Once they didn't end it at 480 (700), I knew they were going for 500 of Shippuden.

The first half could be Konoha Hiden, and the second half could be Ch 700. Most episodes based on manga are constructed like that.
It would actually be kind of funny if it ended at 500. On MAL, since the episode count is indefinite, you can literally put in any number you want. I didn't want to update it so I just put "500". Coincidence?

Hardcore Naruto fans in this thread, do we still have Novel material left, or did they adapted everything so far? It would be a shame not to adapt everything at this point.

There are still 4 more novels left but I'm not sure if they'll adapt it or not.

5LN's, the epilogue chapter, a Mitsuki origin chapter and the 10 chapter Sarada focused side story manga.
The Boruto anime will start with anime original as has been announced though it's unknown whether that will be set before or after the Boruto film.

Haha it's always nice to other passionate fans.
Pfft are you kidding? At this point, it seems as if Studio Pierrot and Viz Media are in cahoots not to bring Naruto fans every bit of the source material/novel content.
There's Chapter 700 that you can see some debating above about but I think it'll be shown in due time. No reason to skip over that. But they've manage to skip over Kakashi's story which was one of the best imo, (story about him pre 6th Hokage and life without the sharingan), Sakura's story another good one, Akatsuki story, Gaara story, I think a Jiraiya story, and because they skipped all that who knows if they'll animate Mirai's story.
The only reason I lump Viz Media in with Pierrot is because even if all those stories never end up getting animated, (which they probably won't seeing as how there are official timelines out about when these stories occur, not to mention Boruto is OK'd and drops in about a month), we still could've had the novels ourselves translated, but Viz basically has made it clear they don't plan on releasing those west.
The only novels confirmed in English so far are Itachi, Kakashi, Shikamaru, Sakura, and Sasuke. To add, what's even more bizarre is that Sasuke's story dropped in Japan way after all the other novels and we haven't even got those so it makes our chances very unlikely of ever getting them.
In the end, it would've been very welcomed seeing every bit of content animated. Especially since the story of the Boruto anime is coming from the Next Generations manga, which is monthly..they've already confirmed that the anime will start out with an "original story" (possible filler). They could've fit those novels in and gave the manga a chance to get some distance. We're almost certain to have a Super scenario now. *shrugs*
But I digress. This could just be me being both very passionate and a tad bit salty about my favorite series ever.

Thanks for the quick replies, people.
In this case let's wait and see if they will adapt them into the new anime series, or maybe in OVAs and/or movies.
