I haven't seen Junji Ito's name on an article for a very long time. It seemed that he hasn't been active for quite some time I'll guess, but it's good that he seemed pretty well. Man, what would I do to see some of his works getting animated. There's so much general disdain for a horror anime that it bothered me a lot. The last actual horror based one was probably Another, and that is one of my all time favorite anime and my gateway toward watching more Japanese animation.

As much as I like Ningen Shikkaku, that art style isn't to my liking. Takeshi Obata's art work from the Aoi Bungaku series fit very nicely.

Furuya's adaptation was the best so far and truest to the book compared to the anime and live action adaptations though taking place in a more modern time, he really captured that pessimistic feeling the book has. That said, I'm really curious to read Ito's adaptation I hope it will get licensed.

I'm not familiar with this work, but I am hoping Ito can do the adaptation justice. I have faith in him.

I've heard this books extremely good as well as the manga adaptation . However seeing Ito will be doing his own adaptation , make me both cower with fear and rejoice in glee. Fingers crossed here
