I had a hard time picking because there's four I really enjoyed but my tops are:
Best: Re:Zero Runner-Up: Mob Psycho 100 (honorary mentions: Food Wars [this season just didn't deliver the laughs or excitement but I still watched every week], 91Days [it meandered a bit but really came into its own]) I have the same issues as Nick with Orange but not enough to qualify it as my "worst." That one goes to the The Morose Mononokean since it's the only show that I continued watching post-Preview Guide that failed to hold my interest. The other "bad" premieres I didn't keep watching so I don't feel like I can judge. I'm also still watching JoJo's but have gotten a little tired with how Shonen Jump-y the episodes can be (a lot of annoying dialogue when action should be taking place) |

I can't believe this is an actual thing I read. Bananya was not only adorable, it had character development too! spoiler[Bananya became a chocolate-covered bananya!] It had a more coherent storyline then most ecchi series which never get "Worst of the Season". |

I'm a little surprised to not see the much-praised Planetarian as anyone's favorite or runner-up. Maybe it was forgotten after finishing its five-episode run?
Not at all surprised to see Rewrite and (unfortunately) Orange picking up "worst" votes. They're the last two things in my queue, and it feels like a slog getting through them, particularly Rewrite, which has managed to please neither the Key fans nor the passers-by. |

I'm seeing a lot of Mob Psycho. I think I'll have to check it out at some point. What I'm more looking forward to is Re:Zero. I plan to binge watch it, but I'm "savoring" it for a better time. I got all kinds of course assignments and exams in the coming weeks so I can't watch it yet. I have to watch the new D.Gray-man and the new Food Wars. I think there are some other shows from this year that I'm interested in, but haven't seen yet. So much stuff to watch.
Out of the shows that I followed weekly the 2nd half of Macross Delta was my favourite. I've seen a lot of "They ruined Macross!" type of posts, but I really liked it. Taboo Tattoo was pretty bad in some ways, but it had its moments, I had more fun with that show than with Rewrite. Hybrid x Heart Magias Academy Ataraxia was the worst show I followed. I dont get it why anime from previous season Spring get listed. Re:Zero top the list for 2 cours its kinda unfair to other anime that only air 1 cour. Same to other anime that airing more than 2 cours too.
Anyway my pick is Sweetness and Lighting for best despite some bad animation I found in some episode. Nice slice of life anime and good interaction between characters make me like to recommend this to non anime fans. Average Is Shokugeki no Souma season 2. I dont like how fast the plot moving compared to season 1. Too damn fast. Worst is Time Travel Girl. I dont like how bad plot is developed. Less interaction for some inventors they met. Like, why you even bother to time travel in the 1st place if you just wasting time do nothing? Not to mention no proper good bye to inventors to go back to own timeline. Creamer's worst is Orange?
This is why I don't trust his reviews. He should quit watching anime if he thinks shows like Orange are the worst of the season. |

Summer 2016 was a great season of comedies for me. Most of the dramas fell flat for me. Orange had excruciating padding, Rewrite was just flat-out awful, and Sweetness & Lightning and Amanchu had the same problem in that they had the same dramatic beats each episode with different devices.
Favorite: The Disastrous Life of Saiki K Runner-up: Planetarian Honorable mentions: Love Live Sunshine, New Game, and Handa-kun Worst: Berserk (2016) It isn't because of the animation quality, but rather the writing quality. Watching this ~8 years after I read this arc in the manga reaffirms my stance that the only good part of Berserk is the Golden Age. Everything after it is static characterization, annoying new characters, and near recycles of the Behelit scene in the Golden Age arc. |

I seem to have a different opinion on Cheer Boys than Amy and Lauren, as I found it to be better than both of them seem to think it is. I wasn't bothered by the smaller amounts of cheer leading in the later parts of the since, considering it was a slice of life show and sports show. I also didn't see the gay panic that Lauren found in the series.
Planetarian was my favorite of the season. I watched it last week and it easly was the best thing I seen this season. Favorite: Planetarian Runner Up: (Tie) Love Live Sunshine, Cheer Boys I don't have a worst since I don't finish I stuff I don't like watching. |

I agree it was very good, but there was so much "very good" this season that it got lost in the deluge. Even in my post on my blog of my favorites from early on, it only made #6 (behind Orange -- which I liked a lot more than others, but the production problems were definitely still an issue after all -- Jojo, 91 Days, Thunderbolt Fantasy and Love Live Sunshine. As you can see, Mob Psycho moved way up from my initial impressions.)
That's just because a lot of us don't watch enough (if any) of bad ecchi shows to be able to write about them. Bananya is a lot easier to keep up with since it's a 3-minute-an-episode short. |

Sorry to disappoint you, but i'm neither a girl (anymore) nor do i hate myself for my "extremely specific fetishes" which don't include shotacon btw, i just found this show genuinely hilarious (most of the time). Sometimes cringeworthy but still funny because it never seemed like this show took itself seriuously. So the only thing i may be guilty of is an odd sense of humour, but i've learned to live with that. 
Anyhow, here's my list: Best of the season: Mob Psycho 100, Runner-Up(s): Thunderbolt Fantasy and The Disastrous Life of Saiki K., Worst of the season: B-Project...hands down...in fact, i was tempted to open a thread for this series only to discuss the incredibly bad final ep., but since probably nobody else actually finished this, i eventually refrained from doing so. Runner-Up: Days. I'm actually shocked that several people picked Cheer Boys!! but nobody even mentioned this trainwreck of a "sports anime"... |
