Yeah, I noticed my sub pass was canceled a few days ago. At this point since I will most likely only keep CR account active.

So will there be refunds or codes given for crunchyroll (depending on whether people have cr already or not)?

The email FUNi sent me said I'll get a refund for the remaining amount when they cancel my subscription in November.

I know some people on Funimation's blog were upset because the yearly price for dub-only will be the same as the yearly price as the all-access pass was. It's a fair issue to raise, though personally I'm not that bothered by it. I watch basically everything dubbed anyway, so my usage won't actually change, the amount of dubbed shows will go up, and honestly, I have my doubts that they could lower the price on the yearly subscription and still have it be cost-effective.

That's not a surprise. Streaming sites in general seem to be moving away from tiered access subscription levels. I imagine they calculate that they'll be losing sub only users to CR anyway due to the catalogue sharing plan, so making the dub package more affordable seems the sensible way to offset those losses & attract new customers who will be interested in the greater number of broadcast dubs.

Do they break it up like netflix ?

SD vs Blu-ray

different price plans depending on the format? or just one price for all formats?

4K blu-ray movies are coming out --$30 a movie..:/ but i doubt we would get 4K anime any time soon or 4K is really needed for animation ??

Hmm...I have a yearly subscription to both Crunchyroll and Funimation, and I mostly watch shows subbed in order to keep up with weekly discussions. Neither Funimation nor Crunchyroll have indicated that *all* Funimation's subbed anime will be hosted on Crunchyroll, in fact, as far as I can tell, they haven't been clear on exactly which titles will be hosted on which site. I'll give them a few months to figure things out, but I'm a little disappointed that only Funimation's monthly fee will be reduced.

Also, I still think we should call this partnership "Fun & Crunchy"! Laughing

Yeah, making the new monthly plan $5.99 and the yearly plan $49.99 makes more sense to me from a marketing standpoint.

So they're not really canceling sub-only subscriptions until they run out? Yesterday I watched subbed shows (one of them was Saiki Kusou) and my subscription was still okay. I haven't received an e-mail detailing what they're going to do with yearly subscriptions. Mine doesn't renew until January of next year. If they want to cancel my subscription at the end of this season, that's fine with me as long as they refund 3 months worth of the subscription. This is still all very confusing. This article, Funi's blog, and everything everybody is saying is not helping.

Edit: From their FAQ:
Quote:
I'm a current US Funimation subscriber. What will happen to my subscription?
We will be contacting each of our subscribers by email, but here's a basic overview:
If you're currently an All-AccessPass subscriber, your account will be automatically converted to FunimationNow Premium and your next bill will reflect the new pricing.
If you're currently a SubPass subscriber, you will not be charged for your subscription after today and you will have 60 days of upgraded access to FunimationNow Premium.

It looks like we're not getting money refunded? I'm not interested in upgraded access to their premium services. I have zero interest in subs. Why would I stick around their website when they have nothing I want. I'm liking this less and less.

Oh I should clarify, I have a yearly subscription as well, and mine ends in February. I dug up the email again and this is what it says, "What does FunimationNow Premium mean for your current SubPass Subscription? As of today, the SubPass and All-AccessPass options are going to be removed from the site and service as the majority of our subtitled content is going away. Your account WILL NOT be charged again when your subscription is up. You will have upgraded access to our new FunimationNow Premium tier until November 7, 2016 and you will receive a refund for the remaining time on your SubPass account. If you decide you want to continue using your Premium Subscription for the new price of only $5.99 a month, or $59.99 a year, click upgrade below."

Basically, means I and I suppose all my SubPass and All-Access brothers and sisters will only have access to FUNi until November 7th unless we decide to upgrade to their new subscription model, and we'll get a refund for the unused time on our current subscriptions. Whether the refund is from now until when it was supposed to expire or from November 7th until then, I don't know, but I'll assume it is the latter.

If you have no interest in subs then you SHOULD stick around. Funi will only host dubs.

thats an interesting point, 1080 is fine, top of the line. animation does not need all that visual enhancement, its already to a point where its nearly impossible to find any quality issues with blu-ray. for video games sure, but what can 4k do with animation? thats more for 3d movies.
