This is worrisome. His illness must be serious enough that they don't expect him to be returning anytime soon.

I was expecting them just to write Hiroshi out for a bit, not recast his voice actor D:

I wish the best for Fujiwara and hope he has a speed recovery. Hiroshi won't be the same without him.

Due to production schedules and the anime standard practice of recording voices after the animation is done, recasting is probably the only thing they could do.

Looked up Morikawa's profile. Can't believe he's almost 50, as he does not look a day over 30.

He is one of 'almost 50' voice actors that I like. The others being Ishida Akira, Koyasu Takehito, Midorikawa Hikaru, Yusa Kouji, and Okiayu Ryotaro.

I wonder if he'll also be replaced as Berger Stone on Macross Delta. Hopefully he'll have a full recovery.

Now, Shin has the dad whose seiyuu plays/played Isshin Kurosaki, Minato Namikaze, Sephiroth, Naraku, and Ninja Slayer. Very nice.
