He'd be better fit as the OTT Desty Nova.

"James Cameron's Battle Angel Alita"
pls don't make this into "Steven Spielberg's Transformers" and "Michael Bay's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles." The director is far more important than the producer. |

I think they chose that wording because this film has been Cameron's brainchild for at least 13 years, and he only recently agreed to hand it off to a different director. |

Wow, this actually makes a lot of sense.... I mean, how much closer coul you get?
Personality of previous characters also kinda fits the bill... |

There making a GUNNM movie now...? I mean I liked gunnm (though it was okay nothing special, art was cool) but out of all the anime they could have grabbed why choose this one? In the same style appleseed is far more interesting, and there's so many anime that would be much easier to make into american movie, like say cowboy bebop (not that I'm saying they should make a movie, just that it'd be way easier/popular).
As for the actor, well the guy is pretty amazing, but really at this point most people would rather see him do the smart and devilish guy than concern doctor. Personality wise I'd see him playing something like Kira. |

I think that Christopher Waltz is the perfect choice to play Dr. Ido. So far this movie is shaping up real good and definitely looks promising.

Yes, that is even mentioned in the article. This is a Hollywood adaptation. They are going to change a few names.

I don't know anyone who refers to Transformers as "Steven Spielberg's" Transformers. the bit about TMNT though is true as annoying and petty as it is, |

After seeing him in Django Unchained and Inglorious Basterds, this guy is the real deal. This could possibly make it on my want to see list just by adding him.
