I agree with both the praises and criticisms of this volume. I'm really frustrated with Akamatsu sometimes; he can be an excellent writer, and his action scenes are so dynamic, and then he has to mix in his off-putting fanservice humor in as well. This won't be a huge problem for the next couple volumes (and there's a REALLY good arc coming up), but the absolute nadir has been reached in the most recently simulpublished chapters. At this point in the current running, it's basically a continuation of Negima, for better or worse.
I still love the series, but Akamatsu makes me sigh and facepalm pretty dang often. |

You've not seen nothing yet, it gets worse in later volumes as far as the harlem issues. spoiler[It get ecchi too. I think something must been pushing Akamatsu-sensei to go this route. Likely dismal sales since he not living up to Negi harlem style.] |

I've been reading every chapter as they're published on Crunchyroll, and you're correct. This last arc in particular has been ridiculous. |
