I checked out the opening for this and I'll have to pass. Holy, crap is this about a teacher's students sexually harassing her? It kind of hurts my head.
But I do think this is a cool idea and hopefully they could do more shows like this. My personal choice would be Patalliro! which is also a show I could never see coming out on DVD in the states (old, weird art style, weird content) but I've been dying for years for more fan subs of it to come out. |

I get that the point is to release obscure anime, but this is...really an odd choice. Still, I like the idea, and I'm looking forward to what other shows we might see!

>the potential for classics like old other Go Nagai goodies, Tomino's earlier works, or even stuff from Tadao Nagahama might have a legit chance of getting proper licenses
This sounds good! |

That's the gist of the series, yeah. For an eighties anime it's pretty funny and was pretty popular from what I remember. Kinda surprised it's getting licensed, but it's cool that it is. It's a fun show. -Stuart Smith |

It's not always just the students, but that's the basic idea, yes. Anyway, I'm shocked, but in a good way; vintage ecchi shows tend to fly below the radar, especially where licensing is concerned. Now I can't wait to see what else they have in store. |

This is a fantastic idea that could give way to some wild card releases. I, for one, am keeping my fingers crossed for an English release of Oz no Mahou Tsukai (the 50-ish episode series with the Joe Hisaishi score.)

Pretty cool, I've been wanting to watch this one beyond the few couple episodes which I think I saw raw. This kind of licenses is the thing I've been waiting on for a while: those weird unsellable shows that could be otherwise completely ignored. Ai Shite Night, The Kabocha Wine, Hikara no Densetsu, Tokimeki Tonight, Lady Lady, Candy Candy, Lady Georgie and a bunch of other non-mecha from the 80s needs a second life.

IOW, the same reason Warner created the MOD Archive, for similarly obscure/unmarketable titles. (Which, to Warner, is everything before Harry Potter, but...) If any company decided to make the first step and get into the anime MOD market, I'd expect it to be Discotek. Not with this one, of course, but, y'know. |

I pray that they recover from limbo the Mighty Orbots TV series, it is technically anime, it is only one cour long and already has an english and spanish dub.

Oh Japan. You really were flippant about sexual harassment back then, weren't you? From what I've read of this show online, it at least looks like an interesting time capsule of Japanese social norms in the 1980s. I'm always keen to see Discotek expand into new territory, so I might check out a few episodes of this. Translating 95 episodes is still quite an investment.

It is an odd choice but I'm glad nonetheless, I like to go back and watch old anime, they were made to be watched after all. I never liked the idea of giving something a miss just because it's old, which is a problem I have with many people nowadays, not just with anime, but with anything in general weather it be music, movies or other TV shows.

Wouldn't ImaginAsian be the first anime MOD company: http://animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/company.php?id=6444 Sure, they're gone now but they did sort of blaze a trail. |

Have many people seen this in the west? I'm just curious as I'm sure if this was one of those titles like Angels Egg, which didn't come over but has a small following in the west.

I've been into anime for about 24 years now and this is the first I've heard of it so I'm going to say probably not. Though, if Discotek could get their hands on Angels Egg that would be awesome. |

Too bad they're only going to stream it. I mean, I understand why, but I'm just not a fan of streaming. I'm willing to give it a try though... if it's even going to be available here...
