I thought Pacific Rim 2 was cancelled, but anyway I liked him in Star wars.

Nnnnope--It's got a brand new job at Warner, now that Legendary wants to join the '14 Godzilla sequels with "Kong: Skull Island" to create, yes....a "Linked monster universe".
(At the moment, studios panicking over Alice, X-Men and Turtles' sequels dropping like flies, and joining the Batman movie, is finally starting the debate about whether "franchise strategies" is really a good idea in the first place--
But then somebody brings up Civil War, and they all get starry-eyed again.)

Eh, I didn't care for him in Star Wars, and I would rather have the 2 main pilots from the original return for the sequel. Still giant robots though so sign me up.

He did excellent in Star Wars, so I look forward to seeing him in this! Also I've seen no indication that the two main characters from the first film won't be in this one. He's just a new main character in addition to them most likely.

Ooo, does this mean he'll get to use his natural accent? I can't remember if Elba kept his British accent in the original, but Boyega is also British and I love it.

Sorry Mako, you got stiffed from being the lead character again.
Oh. Wait. They wouldn't... No, no. But since they didn't hook up in the first movie, I wouldn't put it past Hollywood to miss a second time.
Come to think on it, I thought of Mako as Elba's surrogate daughter. Doesn't making him an actual father kind of ruin it? But in the franchise about giant mechs punching giant monsters, who cares about characters?
Oh well. Boyega was the only thing I genuinely liked about the Farce Approaches. Except when his character went through the requisite nostalgia trip through the what should have been pilfered Falcon. Movies: Where I don't like the fan service.

Yessss! I am so pumped for this! Love it!
Lol at the racists across the internet getting so flustered and worked up too! Boyega is so fabulous in his response to them too (he was with TFA, anyway, I expect even better here). ♥
