"They plans to move overseas..." How? How did someone not proofread a two paragraph article?

So is she quitting voice acting? Well at least we have Ali Hillis for Karin.

Congratulations on her marriage! I wish her the best of luck on her move across the Pacific.
PS: A minor concern to bring up, and my sincere apologies if it's of any inconvenience, but I find how Kanako's last name is spelled to be a bit jarring...

This is the genesis of why otaku hate it when female entertainers (like seiyu) get married. Traditionally, it meant the end of their careers. It happens less often today, but it still does happen as one can see here.

Yeah, that romanization really doesn't make any sense. Either make it Tōjō or Toujou.

There's no mention where overseas, is it? (I'm guessing the United States, as, to my knowledge, that's the most common destination for Japanese people moving out of the country involving traveling across an ocean.) Wherever she's going, does she know their language?

Not necessarily the US. We have a lot of Japanese companies setting up production factories here in my country, and as a result, they send some employees from Japan here too.
When my mom visited Japan a few years ago, a lady who works at a department store chatted with her and said she used to live in Singapore as her husband was posted there for work at the time. South East Asia is another popular area for overseas posting, business-wise.
Languages can be learned. That's one of the fun things about going to a different country, for me anyway

Yeah, I figure if it's as vague as "overseas," it could be anywhere. Technically, it can be any other country, as Japan is an island and thus a sea or ocean must be crossed to get to any other country.
Nevertheless, wherever she's going, I wonder if she'll find work in that country's entertainment business.

Yeah, to have the first elongated "o" be translated as ou, while the second elongated "o" has a line over it, is odd. It's inconsistent, it's taking the same sounds and writing them differently. 東條 / とうじょう has both the o of と and the o of じょ followed by う, so I would choose to write it as Toujou.

Anyone know approximately what percentage of voice actresses continue working after they get married?

Since i'm sure Karin will be in the new Naruto manga that will inevitably end up with an anime, I guess we'll be seeing voice actress for that role at some point.

I wish all the best for Ms. Toujo. And,I admit this may a personal bias on my part,I hope does she come to the U.S. There is a significant Japanese community here and it won't be the first time this has happened either. Mari Iijima lives in California, and she was a big voice actress there for a time. I also hope Ms. Toujo does some American work as well. I'd love to see her have some roles in cartoons. She might be really good if she decides to come here.

Same here in the UK. there are two Japanese owned and operated companies here in my home town of Basingstoke also many of the UK service industry and finance companies have Japanese owners.
