GAWD I'M SO ANGRY THAT I CAN'T READ THIS!!!

I just started reading this series and now I'm hooked. I finished reading vols 1 and 2 last week and sadly I couldn't even get vol. 3 from the damn PL. I really wanted to continue seeing where this story was going. With each vol. I read I went back and read the ANN reviews. Hell, I even looked up info on JSL. And I CANNOT wait until the movie.

It's a strong story on so many different issues. I'm a sucker for stories like these. It really is a gem among many and it's already on my collection development list for 2016 as soon as the budget is finalized.

I'm so annoyed that I won't have vols 3 and 4 to read on my vacation to GA. Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad

*I heard more about this title at one of the NYCC panels. So after getting back to writing story ideas, one of my characters who doesn't speak. I later decided to make her "mute". That later led me to thinking up a way for her to communicate, so I decided on a type of limited sign language. This gave the character a little more depth from what I created originally. What did I end up doing later? I found myself picking this series up and giving it a read. I'm so glad I did. You be surprised what ideas you can play around with when creating characters.

Chrno2 - The whole manga is available on Crunchyroll if you have a paid account there. That's where I first read it and fell in love with it, so much so that I've bought the physical books as they've been published.

I love the use of the X's on people's faces to show Shoya's perception of others. It really highlights how he views his classmates as a faceless unit, and the isolation he feels.

Sadly I don't have a paid account. But I will eventually purchase the books for myself. I've already added them to my collection development lists. So it will definitely be something the students here will enjoy.

Yes, the whole "X" thing was a very powerful touch. But yet the people he ends up being friends with show him what having true friends are. These were people he never cared for. The friends he did have we're only with him as long as he continued being foolish. But yes it's isolation. It shows his own insecurity. As long as he clowned around he kept it the interest. But you see how the students are as well.

In a way this also reminds me of individuals who are bullied but they bathe themselves in the abuse by following the crowd or being the punching bag.

But I wonder if there is anymore backstory on the main character that hasn't been said. All in all excellent series overall.

Yeah, the only issue I had was with some of the drama. Felt a little forced, but the strong points in the art and the over all story allow me to overlook it, somewhat.

There's a part of me that is dreading what may come, not because I feel like it won't be told well, but because I feel like my heart will not be able to take it. Laughing
