The show does have a lot of potential although I hope it will answer many of the questions that are up in the open throughout the course of the story.
I wasn't expecting mecha to be part of it though so was kinda surprised when I first saw the key visual and later the episodes.

show has a lot of potential, I agree time will tell.
One thing I liked was how the Male character (the red head i can't remeber his name) was the one who was pushing for the marriage. so often we see the troupe of the female being obsessed during a betrothal and this was a nice change.
Not that it hasn't been done before but with all the harem shows that were on last season this is a nice change of pace.

My biggest complaint thus far comes from the opening scenes of episode #2, where the character Gus Stewart, just before shooting the mysterious mech (who was the stone-armored caterpillar Mo Ritika Tsetses Ura, or Mo'ura for short), he actually pauses and says that one should always pay attention to its target. And then it was immediately followed by Gus performing a stealth attack from above, only to use the speakers to let everyone know "hey, you all! I'm gonna attack you from your blind spot! Please don't guard it!"
I'm willing to suspend my disbelief to a certain degree when it comes to various tropes, but when a Captain-ranked soldier -- who is supposedly very experienced in combat -- behaves like the average shōnen character in a battle manga, my impression of them tends to go down.

I'm excited about this anime as well. I'm new to the genre, As I've never felt attracted to giant robots. So I won't have problema with most of the things that most likely will be labeled as predictable.
I like the animation and the characters. Felia is really cute, but I hope her character goes somewhere and doesn't stay in mischievous little moe blob. I wasn't annoyed by Mora (is that how you write it?), though. But if it starts interrupting endearing scenes or its voice become squeakier, then I'll end up hating it.

Besides Felia being annoying, I honestly have no complaints so far. The world is interesting, the characters are likeable, the animation is solid, the CG is actually good, and there seems to be an interesting plot forming. As I haven't seen very many shows in this genre at all, I don't mind/notice the cliches, so no issues there, either.
Also, a particular standout scene for me was the one in which the prisoner broke out of the cell and killed all the guards. That was really cool, with the flashing of the lights.

Generally I really like these types of shows and their ambition and this is off to a good start so I hope it can deliver on all of this potential.

I though the first episode was fine, but the second one was unbelievably weak in my mind, I couldn't even finish it. Biggest problem I had is it felt like they were just going down a list of cliche they needed and just checking them, every scene felt like it was crafted to introduce one. Other problem was how non sensical everything felt, I won't go over them all, but some particular highlight were them constantly ignoring that mysterious girl can use the force and the army guy letting all the guard get slaughtered for no reason.

I have one real gripe about the first episode, and it has unfortunately hurt my enjoyment. While I can appreciate anime physics to a certain degree, our intrepid heroes fell down an incredibly large hole that looked to be several stories down - onto the ground - unscathed. That was the kind of fall that can and should kill.
It wasn't a water landing, we got context that they found the water after. It might have been the crystal/power in his hand - but then they aren't questioning why they are alive or acting shocked about it.
When I watched episode two and they were falling, I kept on thinking, don't worry, you'll survive the fall when you hit the ground because you did it before.
As long as the show doesn't make any more major mistakes like this from here on out, I can hope the potential develops.

I'm getting the impression that Gus was very bored and was more interested in getting an exciting fight than actually doing his job professionally. Hence, he didn't want the fight to end early due to an easy opening, since that'd be boring.

Quote: | Thankfully, Comet Lucifer still has some strong points working in its favor. The more I see of the Garden Indigo city, the more I like it. The old European coastal town vibe plays surprisingly well with the occasional sci-fi touches to create a setting that I instinctively want to learn more about. |
I'm kind of torn about the town. On the one hand, it is really interesting and right now it does feel like the series is planning on staying rooted there. On the other hand, it's hard to go on a big adventure with your giant robot and magical girl if you stay at home. That's more of a defender role, which lends itself better to the villain-of-the-week style.

Given how TV anime do things, I'm guessing we're in for another 2-4 episodes of episodic shenanigans masquerading as character introductions & development before the actual story gets underway & forgets most of what happened. Gotta do something to stretch out 6 episodes of content into a 12 episode series.

This episode was SO UNINTERESTING.
As soon as Mr. Crazy Eyes started with the crazy eyes I started shouting at the TV about how I didn't sign up for nonsense villain cliches and ridiculously unbelievable town-wrecking BS. So annoying. I just... ugh. Feel free to have a character-building episode with a fucknuts villain all you want, but if the villain is SO ANNOYING I JUST WANT TO TURN OFF MY TV AND SKIP THE EPISODE, UR DOIN IT WRONG.
Cliched chase scene, cliched "for some reason this guy just blew up the whole city and can hack into the conveniently centrally controlled city-wide controlling system thingy, because of course he can why not" nonsense, cliched crazy-eyes, cliched obnoxiously repeated to ear-bleeding levels speech tic, just garbage, garbage, garbage. Such a disappointment.
The first two episodes promised me something fun, explodey, loud, gorgeous, and interesting. This episode delivered on none of that. Well, except the gorgeous. That still happened. And the explodey, except not in a plot sense, just in a "hey look this dude blew up the city in a totally nonsense way" sense. Dammit.
Comet Lucifer, why you gotta do me like this?
