Finally!
Now we just need confirmation on when we're going to get Pokemon Z.

Being the first Fire/ Water-type Pokémon ever, I await to see how Volcanion will make use of its unique typing.
Here's hoping there will be a at least a quick mention of Pokémon Z sometime in the near future.

By utterly destroying Ice-types.

If we don't get it by early summer I'd be surprised. The 3DS is Killing it with a strong 2016 lineup. Latest I'd say is November of 2016.

But Ice-types get utterly destroyed by a bajillion other Pokémon. (Unless you're real good at predicting what the opponent will do.)
Otherwise, Volcanion is the sort of Pokémon who can function well in both sunlight- and rain-themed teams. Or those tricky ones that switch between them.

Summer seems very likely since the last 2 movies haven't been doing so well at the box office and it would be a good way to get kids into the cinemas, as some exclusive Volcanion event (The Pokemon, an included Mega Stone because there's no way this thing isnt going to Mega Evolve or have an Alt. form, an in-game event exclusive to Z when you download the movie Pokemon, etc.). I believe B2W2 were released around the 15th movie and that did good numbers right?
Then again, with a One Piece movie being released close to this, there might be nothing they can do...

I just hope that Pokemon Z isn't just X/Y with a different story focus, like Crystal, Emerald, and Platinum. I really liked what they did with Pokemon Black 2/White 2. They felt like proper sequels and the only third game in a generation that id say are worth buying if you already have the original.

You forget, though, that Crystal finally let us play as a female character. For a good half the fanbase, that alone makes Crystal worth buying.
