Didn't someone once say that a single anime episode costs like $300.000,- ?

I guess this is why they changed their minds about making tri. a weekly anime. I was upset at first, but now I actually enjoy waiting some time for more tri.
Sometimes, building hype is fun. Not many series can pull that off.

If it is very expensive. I'd say $130.000 to $150.000 is more common (or $2.000.000 for a 1-cour TV show).

If brought it to several US theaters, I think there enough Digimon fans that could help make it earn a few million here. Of course, if they could dub it using the original English voices, that would make a lot of fans even happier.

I take it that the film is considered a success at the box office?

Hmm... ¥59,000,000 doesn't seem like a lot of money compared to other movies that brought in a much bigger profit net... Still, I'm hoping that the first film is at least a success somewhat.
