Damn there's been a lot of Funimation delays recently. Is this because of their switch from their in-house distribution to Universal's?

Its cool that Funi announced this, but no Date A Live II release date other than 2015, which is coming to an end. I have faith in you Funi.

Both Free! and Tokyo Ghoul CE got delayed indefinitely, both shows I wanted (TG this edition in particular)....gg funimation.
There are actually quite a few unboxings online of the CE, so some people got this edition and it looks fine :/

Well, at the very least, Funimation has now made it clear that they still intend to release it, and aren't just scrapping the idea. That's all I needed to hear, to be honest. I can hold onto my money for a few more months. Hopefully it isn't much longer than that though.

When I saw on rightstuf it had a delay and a tbd release date I thought they had the tv version on disc like they done before and caught it before the release this time. I hope the black lagoon collectors edition don't get delay too that set looks real nice

I think that this comes, in part, the licensing spree has been going on the last few years.

While I'm bummed that Noein got pushed back, it leaves me with time to save up for it properly. That's one series that no one ever talks about and deserves the blu-ray treatment.

I am going to give ANN the benefit of the doubt by believing that they did not report on this development on Friday because they waited to have official confirmation from Funimation.
Anyways, I think I am more disappointed than mad at Funimation because they are a great company. But between questionably collector's edition's packaging and sitting on licenses for months and months, it makes me wonder if something is wrong at the company.

Think of it this way: You have more time to save up to get it.

I assumed that it was because they were waiting for some kind of info as to why Funimation delayed it.

I feel the same way. At this point we have good reason to be concerned for them. They have had an unreasonable number of blunders in the last couple of years and it is kind of disconcerting. I have faith that they will get back on track, but many of their problems have been occurring for more than a year now and not a lot seems to be getting done about them. Their quality control is absurdly bad. That is the first thing they need to fix.

I'm wondering (and concerned) about what's going on as well. I guess it's better to recall that product now, that have to recall it after release. But it definitely lower consumer confidence in the company to keep hearing about things like this.
I had to have my Attack on Titan LE set returned because of disc issues and I had them send me another Pscyho-Pass box. Has definitely made me hesitant to buy future special editions from them.

I know people love to give Sentai shit for many reasons, but they should be given credit for the way they've handled their collector's editions so far. They've been kicking Funimation's ass in that department.

The author of Tokyo Ghoul's manga is known to be quite specific about how his work is displayed. I wonder if FUNi sent him the final product and he was unhappy, so they're now having to remake it or something.
Anime Ltd. (UK distributor of Tokyo Ghoul) have confirmed the problems are apparently physical rather than on-disc...
